Where could a person be going to require a flat bed seat in a vehicle? Usually we go to supermarkets, offices, malls, parks, restaurants, and won’t need to lie down for the travel duration.
Impressed very nice van indeed. I find however very amusing that Mercedes is slowly abolishing the classic grill from its saloon cars which, in my humble opinion, goes absolutely against Mercedes Benz tradition. Here however the company now uses it for the van to give it more class and a real Mercedes Benz appearance or presence! I have no problem with the fact that many may like the large star in the center of the grill as to the traditional grill with the star on the hood but I feel that Mercedes Benz customers should be able to choose and this choice option should be available on all Mercedes Benz saloon car products. Traditionally seen all Mercedes saloons were fitted with the grill known thought the world as a trade mark for the brand, with the star mounted on the hood and, as I will refer to here, the "traditional" grill. All 2 door, convertible's or sports Mercedes models with the large star positioned in the center of the grill itself with the only exception being the E class coupe. The E class I presume was never really considered back in the day as being particularly sporty from design compared to SL, SLC or SEC's and maybe the center grill star just didn't fit the design back then. Again I understand and accept the center grill star on saloon models appearing more sporty and thus attracting a new line of customers and support the saloons being fitted with this grill however I find it dreadful that the traditional grill seems to be slowly disappearing in Mercedes Benz saloon car Range. No AMG model is available with the traditional grill, in my opinion a absolute sin especially in reference to the S Class AMG model and the traditional grill is no longer available on the current C Class. For me it's like taking Emily away from RR. I have been a great fan of the Mercedes Brand all my life and more or less drove nothing else but this new trend has been one of the reasons for me now, after many years of loyalty, to turn my back on the Brand. Mercedes times may change but standards remain standards!!
My reason for not purchasing the Mercedes of my choice is the “So Called Star” center grill. It looks like an aircraft propeller. The S class grill with emblem on hood is classic.
P.S for me another disturbing trend by Mercedes but not only Mercedes, BMW to mention another brand also follows this questionable trend, is Ambient Lighting. I have nothing against Ambient Lighting itself but I do have concerns on how it is integrated on some premium brands such as Mercedes. In my opinion in regard to the current Mercedes range...well it's just to bling bling and very close to crossing the line of being tacky. A Mercedes customer I believe is not a "show off" type of person but that's exactly what the current Ambient Lighting displays. If the Mercedes Ambient Lighting were to be a city Tokio or Las Vegas come to mind thud very Japanese or American. A Ambient Lighting that I would expect in a Lexus or Caddilac but not from a high end made in Germany product! Brands such as Bentley or Range Rover have done with their Ambient Lighting options a far better Job! With all respect to technology and electric mobility but cars are cars and not tablets, laptops or mobile phones on wheels!
