VDA 6.3 P6.4: How to verify that the material resources are capable and maintained?

It is important to follow the chronological order when you audit the process:
1. Sufficient material resources must be available to fulfil the customer orders and to deliver a product with the highest quality.
2. The equipment must be installed, capable and released.
3. To ensure that the equipment stays capable, you have to perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
4. The measuring and test equipment must also be available to verify that the processes and product characteristics will be achieved.
5. The workplace must be ergonomically designed to ensure a safe, clean and efficient work environment.
6. The equipment, tools and spare parts must be stored and controlled, when not in use.
