Lyrics:
You pulled the hammer from the cupboard
In the Sunday best you’d wear.
You spoke your vows into a bottle
Stalked his footsteps up the stairs
There’s no living in the present
We are alive beyond repair
Blanking at your own reflection
Despondent as you stare
You pulled the hammer from the cupboard
Filled your ashtray up with prayer
You hid your bruises in the plaster
with a brand new cross to bear
Pour your heart across the floorboards, too broken to care.
Your hands, they trembled
Clutched around your ticket out
There’s no of resemblance of the face you used to know.
So pour your heart across the floorboards, too broken to care.
Nails, nails, nails everywhere.

Grew up on Deftones and Circa Survive, just found this recently but already a huge fan
Just heard of this band on my spotify recommendations. Now i cant stop listening. Excited to hear all their shit
It’s like Glassjaw and Brand New had a baby, love it!
been obsessed with these guys lately, they are like a smooth version of Lower Definition... who are themselves a smooth version of Glassjaw. They also give me major Envy On The Coast vibes. I really love this exact sound, almost like jazz cocktail post hardcore... i wish i knew how to define it better so I could find more bands similar.
haha, if u watch their interview the singer quotes your comment. "jazz cocktail post hardcore"
lol , just googled every band you mentioned here , but what a bs, no one from those was close to the Gatherers
The part where she puts the knife aside and goes to reach for the next one, combined with the climax of the song, is some of the most intense imagery I've ever seen.
Awesome today I found a new favorite band.
Sameeee, i feel like you hahaha
I like the vocals.
Rich, Kelsey, Matt, and Ryan absolutely crushed it with this video. If this is any sign of things to come, their new record is gonna be their best yet.
Sad to say the bassist has left the band...
In the name of everything that moves on this earth... this touched me.
Wish I could go back and watch this again for the first time
Really brings me back to the old days of watching people in sweaters and jeans make kickass music on fuse. NEW FAN
where are they now ? so underrated
never heard this band before but i really like this. gotta listen to more of your stuff
The lyrics are so beautiful and the video perfectly encompasses the mood...fantastic work
This sound is so awesome
I love the ending. Such energy
I think I could see myself listening to this band whenever I want to listen to more chill music
Idk if I would call gatherers chill more existentially terrifying
This is my almost fifteenth time watching all your guy's videos. I've been listening to you ever since I heard Brittle Bones back in 2013, it's amazing to see the growth and talent you guys bring to every song
Equal Vision killing it so far this year
This is so freaking awesome
Awesome visuals
I still have to hold back tears when I listen to "He Went Down There to Die"
Lane Kerr you and me both. Love the newer stuff too though
Amazing guys! The video and the song
Awesome track!
Oh gees. This was something missing in my life that I forgot I didn't have.
I love this
the next big thing!
Matt P you’re the man!
So good.
Found my new love
PLEASE for the love of god, come to Brazil.
Opa, vejo que tem um brasileiro de cultura por esses cantos
last album among my favorites.
DAYUMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah, so damn good, boys!
I swear his voice reminds me of Glassjaw
YES. Omg thank you was driving me crazy
Wtff!!! yeah this made it click for me 😂👌🏼
Glassjaw is awesome but i don't hear the similarities. Gatherers is far better
Everything sounds like glassjaw
They remind me of Chevelle. Team up your would be a banger
Feeling the Palumbo influence in this track
this is fucking amazing.
New fan here.
Same. Can't wait to see them tonight!
The lady singing at the start left me captivated. Does somebody knows if its a song or something?
June 4th in NYC anyone???!!!
Amazing! просто потрясающе! Надо пиарить эту банду!
God's deluxe should get a second part
The ending is so fucking heavy
Goodnight bravado
Im friends with the original bassists brother, R.I.P
Christian Bale has some pipes!
What’s the symbolism behind the yellow curtain ????
idk, but....
Maybe it's something subliminal about people that commit suicide. People nowadays identify the yellow color with suicide and have a special day on suicide prevention and yellow is the main color... I know cuz I hav depression...
As u can see, have a scene that the girl is cleaning your pulses, and few seconds later, another scene with knives...
Willian Chiessi no its not, kid. Yellow is not the color of suicide nor does it symbolize depression. You just made that shit up to try and seem more deep then you really are.
Quit lying.
Kid Nothing ok, I agree with u...
Willian Chiessi you agree you were full of shit and lying?
Kid Nothing man, why u are saying that things bro.... I said that cuz where i live, they use the yellow color to identify as a depression day... Just it man...
Im no a liar, we just live on a different country maybe...
Im not saying that the yellow color is used worldwide to identify it..
Forget, I understood your point of view, keep calm
Fuck yeah.
I know it's from the song Coat, but is the beginning of this video/ending of that song from another song or movie or something? Can't find it anywhere and I love it as well as this song.
Hey - The part was written and performed by our friend Jenna who makes music under the name Prim (primmusic.bandcamp.com) Definitely check her out and support
the opening doesn't remind me of Oathbreaker
Come to Atlantic City.
Are those 2 new guitarists?
Yup!
Art nerd here. Love the Abramovic reference if it was intended. Dead serious this performance artist did a piece where she did that knife-hand game and recorded it. NSFW/Squeamish google.
"Rhythm 10" was the intended reference. Psyched to know someone made the connection
Saw that too!!!!
Группа пиздец какая крутая. Молодцы!!
Naa could deffo b remixed... With out razor blades... 😂
why does he kneel next to the speaker?
Какие же эти ребята охуевшие , очень крутые!
How is this even close to mountain movers? Same color curtains? Who cares? Both bands are great
Mitchell Duke
Dude! Thank you! I’ve been waiting to see some comments like this.
LOST❌UNBALANCED don’t understand the beef? Movers has this being as an ocean/ Casey vibe and this band kinda reminds me of circa survive. Kind of a different genre. Maybe they both want some attention.
is this band comprised entirely of substitute teachers?
Y did u need to say that. I can't unsee that now
Nice
This video is so disturbing
Another good band, another dull band name.
Remove those 'unclean' vocals and it seems like a great tune. Only the last few screeches were tolerable.
i disagree, they were great imo.
disagree
DISAGREE
They are the best bits
I listened again, and still not seeing it. The music itself is good, it has an almost nostalgic feel for me. But the transition from clean to unclean is... Harsh. I never heard any other music from this band, so maybe this is a poor example. But, in my opinion, this song would be better without the screeching, or with a better growler.
