      @@Dylonely42though not beginner pieces, pieces except for the prelude and the toccata are quite approachable.

    Chamayou's playing of the Toccata is such a joyride, holy smoke!

    Watching the falling notes in the Prélude is really mesmerizing. I have been listening to this set for years; I'm glad you chose the Chamayou recording! It's not my personal favorite (that would be J-P Collard's) but it's still one of the best TdCs out there. Thank you!

    Awesome to have more Ravel on here, I can't imagine this was an easy one to make. Thanks for choosing this recording, I love this Toccata!

      Ravel is never easy, although this isn't one of his hardest piece to sync. I remember Gaspard de la nuit made me sweat blood, and Miroirs would probably do the same.

    Chamayou's approach to Ravel is probably one of my favorites, though his Tombeau de Couperin is not my favorite (this doesn't mean it's not great though. His Gaspard de la Nuit is one of the very best of the last few years). I recently found out about Grosvenor's rendition and I think that's a pretty fresh recording. Tharaud is not far from there as well.
    BTW, you're really on fire with the last few uploads. Such lengthy videos one after the other. What's next, Bach's WTC, GV or AoF? ;)

    • @88KeysPiano
      @88KeysPiano Před 9 měsíci +2

      This recording must've been really good for you, since it's very rare for you to pick the same pianist twice. (Abduraimov even thrice)

    • @EppurMusic
      @EppurMusic  Před 9 měsíci

      I'm not too hot on the WTC, but I may attempt the Art of Fugue or the Goldberg Variations at some point.
      And of course I don't forbid myself from selecting the same artist several times. This will become more and more likely to happen as time goes, but I'll try to keep it limited. I'll just try not to repeat artists in the same repertoire/series of works.

      @88KeysPiano Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@EppurMusic It'd be much easier to make WTC rather than GV or AoF as there are many more (good) recordings. Especially about the Art of Fugue, there aren't many recordings that would be worth all the effort to sync.
