- Fatalis vs Dalamadur, a partially controversial topic in the VS department, along side Shara vs Gaisma and such...
Despite the Monster Hunter community pulling on both extremes in this match-up, I take it that they'd actually be more closely tied, even matched by their own powers and strengths. If anything, they could both kill the other fairly quickly, it's only a matter of who can strike first...
This animation was more so just an audio thing, but I decided to just add a little poof to it, that being the context of the Dalamadur vs Fatalis discussion...

I love how Dalamadur is so colossal that its roar is infrasound and deafening at the same time and human ear just can't actually hear it properly
Bro needs to chill before he roars is teeth out
I don’t think that’s infrasound, I think it’s just so goddamn loud anyone who hears it is immediately deafened.
I'd love that, when Capcom added back Dalamador, it's roar would be somewhat deafening due to it's colossal size. I do love the original roar, however this vídeo proved me that it would be far more terrifying/epic to engage combat with that kind of roar.
I'm still suprised that Tigrex's roar hurts you and Dalamadur's doesn't
@@juliusmhfu7200 Bro I just want Dala to return man 😢
I hope I will be able to witness it's return one day
Maybe in MH6 or World 2
I never really thought about just how viciously booming Dalamdur’s roar would actually be. A lion’s roar can be absolutely deafening. I’m sure a half-km long mountain snake’s roar would be _earth-shattering._
a lions roar just sounds like theyre burping ngl. its why most movies with lion roars are actually using tigers XD
@@ShadowFox1412 Have you been next to one up close when it roars? It’s super loud man
@@r.k845 it sounds like a big man exhaling from sitting down but at max volume
Well snakes dont roar and actually barely make any noise from their mouths, to the point where they're better off developing a rattle than evolving into being capable of proper roars when it comes to intimidation factors. They hiss or growl at best and those are not loud either. So I honestly dont know how much size would matter here if it meant the anatomy stayed similar to a snake's. Then again Dalamadur does roar so clearly something is different.
@@r.k845 yeah? I interned at a really good zoo that was heavily focused on conservation the way a zoo should be. They had one of the last few Barbary lion mixes in existence since full Barbary lions are extinct. He was loud but not that loud. Could hear him across the grounds in the morning. Again tho it just kinda sounded like particularly loud burps XD
A scary fact about sound:
At around 194 decibels, sound stops being sound, and the excess energy pushes the sound forward, essentially converting it into a shockwave. For comparison's sake:
-a plane taking off some 100 meters away produces around 130 decibels
-a rocket launch produces around 180 decibels which, while being ear-splittingly loud, is still relatively "audible"
-a thunderstrike can produce around 160-180 decibels, though it has been reported to exceed 200 decibels in some cases
-a 1-kiloton nuclear bomb can produce sound of around 210 decibels
-a sperm whale can produce vocalizations up to 230 decibels which would be enough to rupture your eardrums and even kill you if you stood next to it. This is the loudest sound any animal can produce, as well as the loudest naturally occuring sound on the planet.
So what was the loudest sound known to man? According to most experts, it was the 1883 Krakatoa Eruption, which supposedly reached up to 310 decibels. To give you an idea of what it was like:
- sailors 60 kilometers away reportedly lost their hearing
- 160 kilometers away, it was recorded at 172 dB, louder than a shotgun going off next to your ear and in the town of Batavia -- modern day Jakarta -- the pressure wave not only threw the local gasometers off the scale but also caused windows to burst and walls to crack
- people 4800 kilometers away described it as cannon fire from nearby ships
- in Germany, people reported hearing a loud gunshot, and the air pulse was reported to have caused rising ocean waves in both the UK and the US
- the shockwave itself circled the entire Earth 3-4 times before completely dissipating
As a final caveat: the energy released from the explosion was said to have been equal to 200 megatons of TNT. For perspective: the most powerful nuclear weapon ever detonated was the Tsar Bomba, which ONLY had a yield of around 50 megatons, and that was AFTER they scaled it down from its original 100 megaton yield. To put things into even more perspective: the flare of the explosion was visible at a distance of 1000 kilometers -- and people as far as in Norway, Greenland and Alaska were confirmed to have seen it -- and the Tsar Bomba's mushroom cloud reached a total height of 95 kilometers, which itself was visible at a distance of 800 kilometers. And just for the fun of it: the Tsar Bomba's yield was 10 times more powerful than the entirety of the ordnance exploded during WWII.
Thanks for reading
Thank you for this interesting info.
I already knew most of this stuff but I learned new things. Thank you and have a nice day ! 👍

Dala is immune to fire sadly
@@gemmiethegemini6808 Not Fatalis's, if the lore books are to be trusted. Seems dude can burn "anything" with it. Kinda silly.
Ah yes cuz the monster that literally has a stronger fire breath (to the point he literally has vents in his body to remove the excess heat, and literally melts the hunter ingame by being close to it) would somehow get incinerated by lil baby fatty
@@wanted2657Dalamadur's "fire" is not even fire, and if it was it most definitely wouldn't be at the same level of Fatalis, imma have you know that melting 1400~ tons of steel (atleast those were the calcs made for it) requires wayyy more heat than any real blue fire ever can produce, hell, even the hottest fire on earth (4990C) or the surface of the sun (5500C) type of heat aren't enough to melt allat steel in 10 seconds, I cannot deny that Dalamadur's blue substance (which is not fire) is really hot, but Fatalis was doing stuff that requires way more than 10000C worth of heat while not even using its full power blue flames, as for who wins the fight, I'd say it's way closer than anyone here would admit
And if his "Hellish Breath" attack in Monster Hunter Stories is anything to go by, "incineration range" can be as much as a kilometer away.
This has given me a hilarious mental image that this isn't even Dalamadur being angry this is just their normal speaking voice and the sounds they make when fighting is basically them whispering.
Dalamadur: "HI" :D

Reminds me of an old machinima made by RoosterTeeth back in the day using Supreme Commander. Supreme Surrender - Episode 1 | Rooster Teeth is a good way to find it since thats the title. Two characters are getting terms of surrender from a third. The third shows up and is like 10x+ the size of the other two. The two are taken aback by its size but agree to accept its terms for the surrender of its people. It proceeds to start destroying the base with a laser after they accept its surrender.
They ask why its attacking if it wants to surrender and the giant explains that it was just attempting to transfer the data on the deal. Its just the data transfer beam was too powerful for their systems.

I just realized with the size diffrence this big, Dalamadur beam attack can litteraly cover fatalis as a whole lmao.
And funny enough, based on some measurements I did on the size of Fatty’s “Schrade’s Demise” move, theoretically, Fatty can engulf the entire upper body of Dalamadur!
Like, no joke, that’s how far Fatty’s fire reaches!

Honestly if its Dalamadur against Fatalis. I'd bet on the Snake god any day of the week. However if we're talking Crimson or White Fatalis. Then I don't really think Snake god Dalamadur can match... Maybe Shah could take on Crimson... But I just can't see any Dalas beating White.
Nergigante slaps both
To add to this debate that is happening in the replies, I'd like to input something *very interesting* that I've noticed.
So, when fighting fatalis in world and he does his super fire breath that covers all of shrade, at his mouth you can see that his fire starts as blue but when outside his mouth and on impact, his fire is orange. The reason it's blue is because this most likely the hottest point/part of fatalis's super flame attack, as all the heat is concentrated at that specific spot. This also confirms that blue fire = hottest (because it's the hottest point).
However, when fighting Dalamudur, his fire breath is all blue, even when covering the area infront of him.
So, Dalamudur's flames are hotter than Fatalis's? And could maybe withstand Fatalis's flames?
Idk it's up for discussion.
The one thing I find terrifying is that Dalamadur's roar would be absolutely life threatening on its own. Hearing this roar up close would absolutely kill you due to the change in air pressure and would otherwise cause you to go deaf if you heard it from a distance. Anything above 70 Decibels for a long period of time can cause damage to your ears so imagine how many DB the roar of this thing would be. You have to realize that this is an Elder Dragon that can literally take mountains down like they're and cause a whole bunch of deformation and change in the environmental terrain just from moving around.
Anyways, I like this little animation. It was very funny seeing Dalamadur roar as Fatalis just sits there without a single bit of care in the world. Very well done.
Eyes pop and ears bleed to less.
considering a sperm whale can kill you by vibrating your organs with the sounds it makes, i imagine being too close to dalamadur when it roars would be like being in the blast radius of a nuke minus the actual explosion

Dalamadur: Cool dude, I can feel my scale warming up already
And Dalamadur just melts. This is not normal fire, this is something far more eldritch than traditional flames considering a steel gate potentially weighing over a thousand tons was boiled (not melted, BOILED) in 5 seconds while the heat was dispersed in the environment. And it can spam it without consequence.
Not to mention, Dalamadur is ecologically described as weak to extreme temperatures, while Fatalis' "weakness" to Fire is a gameplay mechanic (in the same vein as Seregios and Amatsu being weak to Thunder and Fire respectively, despite having mica scales and control over storms respectively).

Fun fact.. it's somewhat loosely implied that the dalamadur in 4u is not done growing with the fact that shah is a dalamadur that recently shed which by snake logic means it got bigger. Also the fact that The New World is where the oldest elders go to die and well.. what do you know the rotten vale has a dalamadur skeleton that seems to make zorah magdaros look kinda puny.
Although according to some art books the skeletons in the vale are of an ancient ancestor still.. though the fact it sheds in 4u.
Technically snakes can keep growing after shedding skin but most of them died of old age before reaching bigger...since dalamadur is not usual snake and can be waaay older...yeah he can grow even bigger
as far as i know alot of snakes are never done growing, they grow until they die of old age
Now where is the Lobster Elder dragon with size ranges from small to infinity
Actually the Rotten Vale is made of 2 Dalamadurs.
I think the skeleton in the Rotten Vale is considerably larger than a normal-sized Dalamadur, its skull is the size of a large loading area in past games.

Criaturas colossais como zorah magdaros?
Better question what ISN'T he eating?
Maybe he's like a Blue Whale but instead of krill its people?
Well most big ED don't eat meat. They tend to feed only on bioenergy and minerals. Also as a snake, he surely doesn't need to eat often. If he eat something, i'm pretty sure he would stop eating for ages
Pretty sure he eats the mountains we find him sliding around on in 4U, or something similar to that.

I think also if it roared, and then there was a slight delay before the sound and shockwave hit would add more to the power..
Remember when scientists said that being near Legendary Godzilla when he roared would burst your organs and kill you?
Imagine Dalamadur, who is about… what? 4 times Godzilla’s size? Who knows the damage that would occur if you aren’t a superhuman like the Monster Hunters are.
If you think about it, Whales in general are one of the loudest animals one earth. Larger ones like Sperm, humpback or blue whales make sounds so loud, not only they can paralyze you but powerful enough to kill without even touching you. By forming an air bubble in your brain in which pops, meaning you instantly die. Or your lungs/entire body collapse due to the massive, overwhelming vibrations occurring throughout the body.
We will not be even alive when he finishes his roar
Fatalis: Do that again and you’ll end up like your friend over there. (Points to the Rotten Vale)
POV: your mom yells at you but it doesn’t effect you anymore
The fact that this could be a legitimate attack if they ever reintroduced Dalamadur amazes me
Do you know what kinda *damage* a noise that loud would do to the hunter up close?
Source: Molten and Black Tigrex XD
Yes! This can be its ultimate. It can be akin to an Akantor’s “Wind Tunnel Breath” but instead of just being knocked back, it gives hunters the animation of being knocked back by Kushala wind and then they get knocked back. The attack lasts 5 or 10 seconds. Unique to Dalamadur, Earplugs reduce damage from the roar. No earplugs let’s you do the full animation and one-shots you while full level Earplugs halve the damage and cuts the animation to just getting knocked back or covering ears only. If you survive the attack, it’s already following up with a lunging bite to your location. 5 seconds to dodge it. Massive damage of 4/5 hp.
Bonus attack: A unique status also occurs for only Dalamadur. If he shoots his blue ooze at ya, or hits you with his lunge bite after ult roar, your max hp depletes as the same pace as poison does to red hp. The lowest your hp gets depleted is 10 hp.
If Capcom gives us this fight I’d so spend $30 just for one monster!
*laughs in Yian Garuga*

I'd like to remind you that, in Monster Hunter Frontier, there is an Elder Dragon said to be louder than the largest LIVING monster ever fought in any of the Games, the largest monster being Laviente, and the aforementioned Elder Dragon being known as Guanzorumu.
If DALAMADUR giving off a full power roar in INFRASONIC, then how loud would such a roar be from Guanzorumu, ruling from the top of the Sky Viewing Fortress, originally built on brick and Kushala Daora-material mortar to watch flying Elder Dragons a little closer up?
EDIT: Adding this as an edit because I posted the comment before thinking to add this, but I can see an infrasonic roar literally DISPERSING FLAMES AND SHATTERING THE VERY GROUND BENEATH AND IN FRONT OF the Beast, regardless of how realistic that actually is, such is the sheer MIGHT of Elder Dragons.
Also, note that Fatalis is RIGHT NEXT to Dal as he let off that roar. and he was more concerned with the significantly larger monster getting in his face rather than the fact that HE EFFECTIVELY DOES NOT HAVE EARDRUMS ANYMORE!
for frame of reference, the loudest creature on earth is the blue whale, which has a specializes echo location of 188 decibels. The clicks can be heard around 500 miles away (under water anyway), and is about as loud as a jet engine or a grenade going off. Humans can actually be harmed by it if near enough to it when it pings.
A blue whale is around 30 meters long.... Dalamadur is 440 meters long, and while not specialized to send out echo location, given it's size to a hunter... well, good thing hunters are super human, because the roar alone should likely be able to rupture your giblets, let alone being swallowed whole by it's bite and the like

@@supersai-raptor5167 to be fair, those same ant sized hunters can kill the Fatalis trio.
@@MetroidJr1220 not disputing that.
Definitely Eerie from start to finish
Ngl kinda creepy like going to the ancient forest and hearing a roar loud enough to have u questioning
Pretty sure the sudden change in air pressure would instantly kill you.
Bro’s roar is so loud, the naked ear cannot comprehend it.
Fatalis: Thanks for the tinnitus, my dude.
The look on Fatalis' face be like ".......imma count to 5 my guy"
I really hope that if Dalamadur is brought back in a future game, or any colossal monsters like Dalamadur are added in, they do the sound design for its roar and other noises like this where it makes sense for the sheer size of the beast
I'm not sure but I think my device nerfs the sound
Fatalis: “I think Shrade could use its own Rotten Vale”
Truly a great reference 👍
@@carlosgarabatosferro883 thank you
Funnily enough, if we take actual physics into this, Fatalis SHOULD be dead. All it takes is 185 Decibels to rupture organs in almost any creature, and a beast of that size would roar so loudly, it'd snap bones like twigs by sheer force of its vocal chords.
Then again, if we take "Actual Physics" into these things, neither of these creatures would exist, as they'd be too heavy for their own bodies to support and would be forced to be much smaller.
Now the. Let’s do some science and math
It’s clear that the sound coming from this monster would be absolutely deafening. Probably over 200 decibels given the size of the snake. At a close enough distance the vibrations from said sound will liquify your internal organs.
Standing just out of the sound death zone won’t help because the sudden change in air pressure from it roaring would cause air embolisms killing you nearly instantly
Now if you can survive that the massive amounts of carbon dioxide from this snake roaring would kill you too
So yeah. I’m not sure how fatalis survived that. He’s just built different I guess
Fatalis: And I stand there UNFAZED!
“I WOKE UP IN A NEW BUGATTI!”
It’s Like Yelling At Your Younger Sibling And They Dont Care At All
Dalamadur best monster ever
Your opinion
I’ve only heard a sound similar to that to brings back memories of us about seven years old, and my hand was caught in the cookie jar
The hunter standing out of the frame ... *DIES*
