I would like to amplify my voice, as what I am about to share on my 27th birthday on the 14th November is a painful, personal self-struggle towards a self-healing journey of the mind, body & soul until present day, and will continue to recover for many more years to come.
My personal struggle with this certain illness, I have been battling for about 6 years. 6 years of secrecy, shame & guilt. I now find the ability to reclaim my power I knew that I've always had embedded in me, in order to share my experience by my own rules. I don't believe that there is a "right" or "wrong" time to open-up about anything, but by choosing to take that leap of faith to scream & shout my voice of honesty aloud - more louder than my inner sabateur & self-destructive judgements.
Therefore, this is my continuous journey to:
"I am MORE than my illness! My illness does NOT define my identity!"
This in itself, is the greatest birthday gift (if not, ALL gifts) that I can give to myself, and that is to reclaim my power back. Vulnerability is a strength, not weakness-- it took me a long time to finally understand what bravery meant.
