I love her! My mom is a Nguyễn, and when I told her about this doll and showed her the stock photo, she saw the shoes and said, "Yep, those are definitely Vietnamese shoes." She's right. We wear shoes and heels very similar to this doll with our "áo dài" (pronounce "ow yai", the Vietnamese traditional dress. If MGA still make these dolls with 2nd outfits, Kim would look so gorgeous in an "áo dài", or a modern representation of it. And I'm so glad that Vietnameses are getting representative in doll forms. As Vietnamese myself, I must say that your pronunciation isn't half bad, but Vietnamese is sort of a monosyllabic language, so every word and every name is just 1 syllable. So if you really want to pronounce the name Nguyễn a little more accurately, you can say "when" or "win". Yeah, the "ng" in our languague is difficult to pronounce, because they're not used to it being an opener, but more like and end, such as words that ends in "-ing".
This is a weird compliment but I love how streamlined the box is now! It's far more simple, eye-catching, and more personalized with the art than what it was previously. And I'm glad the accessories can't be easily lost/stolen like in previous boxes. I'm also glad that series 5 has far more neutral and desaturated colors. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but this really pleases my eyes after so much. I love the variety of hues, tints, tones, and shades they're using. As for Kim, she's definitely my favorite of the series. But ngl I feel like her legs are so exposed lmao. Some boots or maybe thigh socks could've definitely enhanced her look but overall she slayssss ❤️
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Vietnamese representation in a doll line EVER and this doll to me is crazy. As your resident Viet, I approve lol + your pronunciation of her last name isnt bad at all! Just exaggerate the second syllable rather than the first ❤️
As a Vietnamese American, I can confirm that is the American pronunciation, I was born in America and have always been Nguyen (New-Win). The Vietnamese pronunciation of Ngu is very hard, but I will always be okay with either. (I hate when I hear people say NIG-GOO-yen or Ni-GUY-en

I do wish she had more accessories like a necklace, bracelets, heck even gloves. I think she would also have benefitted from boots of sorts. Heck, even maybe a headband or wrap. Without the jacket she feels so plain. I love her but the fact she feels like she comes with less I'll wait until she's on sale.
I think the deal breaker for me will be the pricing on the outfit packs. Especially cause the blind box purses were like $10 in the states. I love Kim though! Really hope we get a denim outfit pack for her!
Kim is my favorite doll from this series! The leather jacket and denim are awesome clothing pieces. Also I love that Dior-originated “R” symbol on Kim’s shoes and Michelle’s shirt. 🥰 I would love for RH to have some more normal hair colored dolls like Kim and Victoria.
I actually like the more simplified outfits, as beautiful as the dolls are MGA lines' aesthetics are often a little..'that's too many things, put one back' for me. It's nice to see a design that doesn't use the kitchen sink but still has some lovely detailing

I got Priscilla today. Her color is such a vivid pink. Photos don’t do her justice. She is so gorgeous. I washed all the gel from her hair so she’s drying out right now. I hope the curls won’t go away.
Kim was my favorite from the promo photos, maybe Victoria 2nd. I like this more neutral blue. I've been wanting a black haired doll without brightly colored streaks. She seems fun to redress, would probably look good in any color combo. A missed opportunity for blue jeans. I think this is the first core series to not include pants.

Honestly, if they bring back fashion packs and GOOD fashion packs I'll be more than okay with the loss of a second outfit.The accessories also make up for it though I can see it getting old after a while because there are only so many tiny makeup brushes, palettes, sewing machines, phones etc that you can get before going "THAT'S TOO MANY SLICES!!!" So.... I'm interested to see how they decide to change it up from series to series to keep things interesting.
The hangers are there so that there's a visual clue to who's clothes belong to who. Victoria has full body freckles and body blushing; she's also strawberry blond.
Kim really is stunning! She’s climbing very high in my ranking (Olivia is my number one so far). I’m thinking that she would look so much better with more intricate shoes. I’d probably swap her shoes if I got her.
Her theme color is “Navy Blue” 💙💙. I LOVE her jacket so much it’s one of my favorite rainbow high clothing pieces i think it would look so good with heather’s corset. Need like 5 kims so i can have multiple jackets 😅
It seems like her palette and phone are the correct denim blue while the stand and comb are royal blue. I would love to get all the different combs and make a piece of wall art with them. I don’t collect dolls like that, but I would create it for someone else. The same with the box art. I would love to incorporate it into something for flatter display for a collector.
i LOVE how they’re giving us different nail molds for series 5. They all have gorgeous long nails and i am just so happy! The base doll is what’s most important to me bc i’m gonna restyle them anyway so as base dolls majority of series 5 are perfect! 🫶🏼

From the promo pics I kind of assumed the machines would be changed to a solid hunk of plastic as Jett was a $60 special doll. Having the sewing machine “function” is just really cool as an accessory on a basic $25 doll. Also I have made it extremely known that I love denim and “basic” looks. But that dress is so incredibly detailed that I’m confused how it could be basic haha. This is my first series 5 doll, I can’t do much to compare the entire line to series 4 yet

I would have loved earrings that were just the gem without the R’s in silver. I think because her dress is very simple I wish the jacket had more 🤷🏻♀️. Def agree more jewelry in series 5 would have been nice. The belt on the jacket is removable? I wonder how it would look on the dress 🤔🖤💙
I got my Kim in the mail today and she had horrible bangs ugh! But the accessory section actually has perforated edges and literally tears out! Not sure if you’ve unboxed any others yet.

I was opening my new Shadow high doll which is my second 4-series 2. I've been late getting them waiting for them to get in stores. I finally got them in stores. I get home and I see that the new rainbow high dolls are already out🤦🏻♀️.
I can deal with one outfit but I personally look for 1/12 home accessories so those accessories don’t matter too much for me. I’d rather have a doll with a lot of detail and a handbag. That’s it. Take away those accessories and give her a purse lol

But regular play lines, need to come with accessories that will be displayable as much as they can be played with like a handbag or even Pinkly’s pooch, those kind of accessories I will be happy forever, I can also deal with no comb (by now we all have a small collection lol), but do not take away my stands 😅

Integrity Toys has a Vietnamese character named Navia Phan from their Meteor doll line that was introduced in 2020.
