HUA HIN, THAILAND - Hua Hin, the pretty Thailand beach destination in Prachuap Khiri Khan is just 3 hours away from the big city of Bangkok. Not that you would know as you overlook the gorgeous blue ocean. Hua Hin is a big beach destination for Thai people who escape Bangkok for a weekend break. However, Hua Hin is also home to many expats looking for the sun and the beach. From beaches to Thai street food and beautiful nature nearby, I can understand why Hua Hin has always been a popular holiday destination. But, should you visit Hua Hin in 2023? Well, come with me and find out what Hua Hin is really like now and if you should come when you visit Thailand.

I like that you are honest about Huahin and I totally agree. The beach doesn't look so nice, however if you go there in a better season, you will surely see the sand. Love the music at the artists village 😊.
I try to keep it as real as possible. But I enjoyed it in the end haha. You just need to give it time and make the effort to seek things that you do enjoy.
Maybe you'r ate the wrong beach. The beache section at the Standard Hotel and Marriott are actually nice and the water almost never comes all the way up ti the shore!

Hello
I am planning to go back in thailand
I want to exclude pattaya (I know pattaya like my pockets)
I want to exclude phuket (too expensive)
I want to exclude chiang mai chiang rai and Bangkok and all islands.
I was thinking about hua in... But I need a bit of night life, pool tables and alchool.
Is hua in the right choice or there is a better place?
The reason you don't see the beach in Hua Hin and Pranburi because of the storm out in the ocean which you can not see from shore. The storm created the big wave, high tide, and wind. Normally, the beach is very lovely and calm.
Very good point, I should have realised that. Thank you
We have never been to Hua hin but will definately check it out as we so close to it now 😉😉👍👍
Haha the areas around are nice. I wasn’t overly taken by Hua Hin itself - not now you’ve been further south anyway
Nice one! I loved the artist village! I like these nature vdo’s 😃 Liked and shared 🙌🏼😃
The artist village was really cool and quirky. Thanks so much for sharing, I appreciate that
It looks like a nice place to retire.
haha it is certainly a great place for that - I have a few more years in me yet though
I've been to that mangrove park. Very nice indeed.
yeah it was a very nice place to walk around. Only one other person there when I went too.
Another lovely post Joel❤
Thank you Max
Wow Joe, sorry to hear abt Hua Hin as we were all excited to possibly retire there so love to hear why you didn’t get the ‘feel’. We live in Barcelona now and thinking of straddling here and Hua Hin….
ah! to be honest, I think it is also very much about horses for courses! I prefer to be a bit more off the beaten path and less westernised than Hua Hin when I am in Thailand. But 100%, for retiring, to have a sense of community, some home comforts whilst abroad, a nice way off life, I definitely see the lure and why people like it. It is popular for a reason right? I just feel more alive when I am the only foreigner around, but then again... that is my travel style rather than my settle down to live style.
Great video. Subscribed
Thank you :) welcome to the channel
nice place ! i’ve been thaïland a lot but never went to hua-hin, i will give a try. something remember a lot the high tide in france bretagne 😍 , love the moving waves 🌊 and the countryside looks interesting too . thanks 🙏
Yeah, I come from the Channel Islands and the tides are really big. but they do go up and down. This one just stayed high, I think it was from the big storm offshore to be honest. It is a nice stretch of coastline either way.
13:28... I drove a car over that bridge... :P It was full of dogs at night. I stayed at the resort near by. (Thai style)
haha you are mad, it was bad enough on the bike haha
Nice video, Joe. I moved to Hua HIn about six months ago and love it here. But I didn't like it much when I was your age either. I tell people it's a great place to live, but you wouldn't want to visit here, particularly given all the top shelf destinations to holiday in Thailand. Hua Hin is popular with older long-term expats because of the conveniences, ranging from heaps of available housing, to plentiful and quality healthcare, to excellent shopping and restaurants. It's also popular with western families with young children, and Bangkok Thais who drive down for weekends and holidays. Today's Hua Hin reminds me of Bangkok thirty years ago. To the city's credit, there are several neighborhoods here with very different vibes. In any case, glad you stopped by and see you again in twenty years or so. Cheers.
Thanks Mark. Oh for sure, I can see why people like it to live there. I come from a very small island, so sense of community is important to me and like you say, certain amenities are also important. I will visit again and try it out haha.
😊😊😊
thank you 😊
สวัสดี ครับพี่Joe🇺🇸🇹🇭☺🍔🍍🍉🏖สวยงาม มาก ครับ
Happy that you enjoyed it :)
Pranburi have a lot of great seafood resturants with great price.
Oh, next time I will check them out, thank you
it always reminds me of the Thai version of Weston-Super_Mare
hahaha that is hilarious. I certainly see what you mean having visited WSM many times
Going to BKK in November. Hua Hin is easily 3 hours away. I'll give it a miss.
hahaha there are better places to visit within a 3 hour radius, I would say.
Gotta say it wasn't like that at all..... Got stuck there for awhile and the beach was endless, smashed golf balls up and down all day. Sick to see the tide up though
yeah, I must have just visited at the wrong time for the tides. They literally never changed.
How long ago were you in Hua Hin? Could have met for lunch
I was only there a few days, but this series was filmed a few months ago.
สวัสดีครับพี่โจ ดีใจที่พี่ชอบหัวหินบ้านเกิดผมครับ 🙏
Ah! You live in a great place
Huay Yang next? .. if you do you have to eat @ Chabar or Kate & FaSai Restaurant
Thanks for the tips :)
Could of used Google translate from Thai to English. Just a thought.
Great vid
For what? There are Thai captions. And the title and description is also translated to thai if you have CZcams set to Thailand. Let me know if it isn’t working
Ooooooh, that bridge!!!!
hahah worst part was that I only realised it when I got half way. No health and safety there. Imagine a car!
@@hungrytoexplore I know, right? Now I can't get that image out of my head. 😅
Norway: Hua Hin "Stone head city" English translation.
Hua Hin has many advantages, but the beach is not one of them, they have no boardwalk, and it can be difficult to find parking if you have a car.
Beaches both south and north are better than Hua Hin, I like Cha Am better, a smaller town located approx. 20 min. North, it has a promenade, and you can park along the beach, Cha Am is also known for extremely good seafood restaurants, since it was originally a fishing village.
Ah yes I did go to cha am, but didn’t film much of it. It is nice down there too
Is hua hin safe to walk around ? It seems very quiet and no tourists there
100% - I never felt unsafe at any time, anywhere in Thailand. Do not worry about that at all.
หัวหินน่าเที่ยวมากสำหรับฉันหัวงว่าคุณจะชอบ
it is cool. I hope you liked the video
Are u still in hua hin
sadly not
I've seen the "real" Thailand. I've been living with farmers in Isaan. After a while VERY BORING. So next time I will go Hua Hin for a week or two.
hey that is cool though. Quite the experience. But I understand the desire for adventure after that.
What’s your favourite beach destination in Thailand that has some home comforts?
oh that is a good question. Ko Lanta, Ko Tao, Ko Samui
Must be a ton of mosquitos.
Thankfully not when I was there, but I am sure there will be
another guy who missed the best things to do in Hua Hin and didnt know when to visit the beach
Oh grace me with your wisdom! What did I miss?
You’re too young to appreciate the benefits of living in Hua Hin. 😂
I’ll take that as a compliment haha
You talked too much but not showing anything much.
That’s why the channel is called Joe Parrilla 👋🏻
I wanted to see what the 'nightlife' / bar area was like.
I’m sure there are plenty of channels for that ;)
