I accompanied My husband on a hunting trip to Canada. He hunted and I had 3 glorious sewing days in the hotel. It was so much fun. No responsibilities. Just sewing. It was the best time.
I am a quilter of over 20 years; my group's retreat days are over...so enjoyed watching yours! Me and my sisters have Sisters' Day every year together...not to sew...but we have lunch, drink wine...and play Settlers of Catan all day, visit, spend time together... so lovely!

You were so funny giggling at the amount of things you were bringing! Seriously, though, when you're shut away on a peaceful retreat you may get bored with just one or two things, so a variety is nice. I'm headed to a quilt retreat soon myself -- bringing an EPP project, embroidery, and basting a quilt (because I don't want to lug a machine and all that's needed with it). Blessings, Rachel.
You made me laugh when you said "I don't think I'll have taken too much if I touch all the projects". I apply a similar rule: I don't think I have too much fabric if I can touch it all!

I read so many books set in the Cotswolds. This trip with your sister would be an absolute dream and you are both so talented. I hope you have the most amazing time. Since there are no airplanes involved, I say take whatever you like. If you don't get to it, no worries, you can take it back home. I can't wait to see your finished quilts.

Tiny village houses are precious! We do zoom retreat every few months, about 60 of us over three or four days. So fun!! We made tiny houses during one of the retreats; I made twelve houses and six trees and created a fun table runner for my dining room table. It gets lots of fun comments. This looked so nice! I know I'm watching this past the time but one thing you didnt mention in packing ( and no I didn't think you brought too much) was tape. I always seem to have a need for tape( painters) 😅. Love your quilting of the Baptist fan and all your sweet little houses and trees 🩷 oh and your sisters fabrics so yummy! 🩷
You are right, that would have been so handy for basting the quilt but also our machines kept giving us static shock on the needle plate and someone suggested covering the plate with painters tape. The machines are fine now, must have been an electrical issue at the cottage
I love your double Muslim quilt it looks very cosy and will be warm I'm sure. Love the Baptist Can design too. What fabulous shops you found too. Wow the houses are super cute, how big is the finished quilt and did you use a pattern. You did well so far. Here in Australia I do a retreat with a few good Quilty friends out in a country house. Always enjoyable to see what everyone gets done, though like you I tend to bring lots of projects. Thank you, the houses are a found paper piecing pattern, I brought it from etsy as a pdf download, and then you stitch directly on the paper and then remove after. The design is from JitkaDesign on etsy
