I was having a very hard time with this, and this video helped me complete my first trimmed flight in the wonderful UH-1H Huey. Thanks a lot, -Knight-!

Think I need pedals. And to stop drinking on Friday night before trying to fly in DCS ....

Brilliant. I’ve never known about this function after all this time. Lol. Also I use a Sidewinder FFB 2 so this will help.

Hi, thanks, got it now. Had it halfway figured but now it's solid. Only setting I don't quite get in Adjust Controls is "force trim", but that's merely the switch on the center console, right? How's the WarBRD in comparison? Lighter? Centering better?

Thanks for that tutorial it was very helpful. I've been having a weird problem though, not sure what it is. When I'm flying at speed and I trim often the controls get stuck and I crash. Sometimes I recover if I start wagging all the controls maniacally (as one would do if their aircraft suddenly became unresponsive) but most of the time it stays stuck and crashes. Has that happened to you? I can't even reset the trim. I can control the collective on the same joystick but that doesn't help much if you're stuck in a configuration. Any thoughts? The trim is hugely helpful but not if it's going to cause a crash 50% of the time.

Check your Huey settings under Special. Make sure it's set to default

Hi buddy, I'm using a Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog Joystick and Throttle. What about yourself??

Still practicing with my new Virpil WarBRD and my VKB Sim pedals. But just started some days ago with my favorite Huey. Good to program the trim reset button. Throttle is the good old Cougar.

@@branchprediction9923 Hi mate, sorry for the late reply as I've been busy with work. I have upgraded the new Virpil WARBIRD Base with my Thrustmaster Joystick Grip. The Thrustmaster Warthog is a good joystick for all aircraft including helicopters but you will need to fine-tune the Axis controls because, by default, it is too sensitive but there are a lot of videos on youtube of setting it up. I must say that the Virpil Base is very good for helicopters out of the box.

Did ED change something recently? My joystick X & Y axes no longer freeze when I press the pilot trim button, only the rudder trim sticks in place?

    • @-knight-7008
      @-knight-7008  Před 4 lety +1

I had the same problem once and then it magically disappeared one day. I am not sure what caused this in the first place.

Know this is years later but happened to me and figured out solution. For some reason there was an additional device - VJoy in my case - that also had pitch/roll axis controls defined to it. I think if this is the case the game can't do pilot trim because one control is at 0 always. I removed the bindings and disabled the device and then my trim worked properly.
