- Autumn is here and that means there are a lot of wonderful mushrooms in the forest. I love to go out into the woods and search for all different kinds of mushrooms. Since a while i know a bit about which one you can eat and i really like the idea of picking my food in nature. Off course it is not the point of this video to teach you which mushrooms you can and cannot eat, because you need to have more positive sources before you do this! It can be very dangerous to just pick mushrooms and eat them. So please see this video as a way to come join me in the forest and enjoy the beauty of mushrooms together. I will cook the mushrooms later on the vedspis in our tiny kitchen. I have been using this vedspis almost for two years and i absolutely love it. It is so cozy to make a fire and stand in front of the vedspis like it is the beginning of 1900 or so ;)
In this video in will also show you how the herbs have been dried this past summer. Which i collected in the previous video's. I have put a lot of time and effort in collecting all these different kind of flowers and herbs, so i am happy i now can finally expand my herbal collection.

Hello everyone, my name is Elcke and together with my two loved ones I emigrated from the Netherlands to the beautiful south of Sweden, which is called Småland. By buying a 19th century cottage (a soldattorpet) in the middle of the Swedish forest we made the decision to live a bit more slow and more in line with nature. By filming our daily life and our adventures we hope to bring you a moment of zen, enjoyment and the time to sit back and relax.

Born in Uruguay foraging mushrooms was never part of my childhood but since I live in Germany, I have been wanting to go to a forest so badly! Prachtige video Elcke. Zijn er dit jaar ook meer paddenstoelen dan normaal? Hier in Nederland was de 2e helft van september 2022 nat en koud. Was dat ook zo bij jou thuis?
Intussen beleven we sinds de maandwisseling een droge, zonnige en (vrij) zachte oktobermaand/wijnmaand ‘22. Is dat ook zo bij jou thuis?
Hej Erik, dankjewel! Fijn om te lezen dat je het weer een prachtige video vond. Vorig jaar waren er ook net zoveel paddestoelen als dit jaar. Alleen nu kwamen ze wat later, omdat het hier heel lang droog is gebleven, weinig regen. September had wel wat regen waar wij wonen in het zuiden. Koud zou ik niet zeggen.
Hier is de Oktober ook zonnig, maar wel meer regen gelukkig. Dat kan de bodem wel gebruiken. En onze waterput ook 🙏
Lizz is op 1 Oktober overleden 😢 Plotseling aan een hartaanval. Bij ons in de slaapkamer. We zijn toen snel naar de dierenarts gereden die haar met een spuitje hebben geholpen het hartje te stoppen. Maar eigenlijk was ze al overleden in onze slaapkamer in mijn armen en bijzijn van Sander.
We zijn er heel verdrietig om, maar proberen weer door te gaan omdat Lizz dat het liefst gewild zou hebben.

@@erik-ic3tp Dankjewel voor je medeleven Erik 🙏 Fijn om je lieve woorden te lezen. We denken dat ze rustig is heengegaan in mijn armen toen we nog thuis waren. Maar dat alleen haar lichaam nog hulp nodig had met het stoppen van haar hartje. Richting de dierenarts was ze eigenlijk al slap en niet meer aansprakelijk.
Du schneidest die Stiele sehr großzügig ab. Was machst du mit dem abgeschnittenen Stück?

you just pull out the mushrooms with roots?
Yes, i’ve learned to do this on a mushroom picking course. I always thought you should cut with a knive, but the roots of the mushrooms are underground so it doesn’t matter. Also you can check better which mushroom you have; for like determination. ☺️ do you pick mushrooms?

why do mushrooms don’t have roots?
Hej! Mushrooms have roots 😊 there under the soil all connected. Thank you for watching!
@@elckeinwonderland The technical term is mycelium, and they're not really roots. My celium consists of tiny threads of fungus in the ground that sometimes are so thin and small and sparse that they are invisible, but other times you will see white "threads" running throughout the soil. If the e mushrooms are growing from the ground, then the mycelium is entangled up with and exchanging nutrients with trees. Mushrooms don't need a root structure in the way we think of it for trees, because the mushroom is just a temporary fruiting body that pops up very quickly, drops a bunch of spores, and then rots or gets eaten by forest critters and humans.
