"To Become a God" is essentially Melony's version of "There's Something About Meggy" as she desperately tries to awaken more of her Fierce Deity power so she doesn't lose anymore of her friends. At the end, when she realizes her attempts to improve herself nearly killed everyone, she is horrified.
Also, didn’t both videos get released about four weeks after the most recent arc at their times of creation?
Yeah, she's sorta letting her desire that's related to Zero taking Axol, get into her mind too much, and it caused her train a little too more than necessary that it's harming others in her vicinity.
I'm kinda surprised about it, but at least Meggy knew what to do, since she also experienced it in some way regarding Desti, and Splatfest.

The main difference is this episode (while not perfect) is leagues better than Meggys episode.
I actually really like that we are getting more lore about the Fierce Deity Mask here in the SMG4 verse. I love how it acts almost exactly like fans of Fierce deity link expect him to. Silent with an objective and will not stop until it is done. And the mask is supposed to share memories with those that wield him so his hatred for Zero comes from Melony.
EDIT: I made a joke about this earlier but SMG4 gave us more lore about the Fierce Deity than Nintendo ever did LOL

Debatably one of the (arguably many) flaws of newer episodes. A few characters are focused on to great degree to make them as 3D as possible, prominently Meggy, Melony and the SMG’s, but others people probably like are left in the dust because of this.

Meggys the type of person that won't stop practicing and melon is just a Canadian personality with a light hearted person
I find it almost poetic how Meggy's the one constantly helping Melony copping and recovering from loss given that she too was on a devastating emotional situation after Desti's death, and how both their character arcs basically the two sides of the same coin; And you see that within' the episode.
Meggy too went from feeling devastated and lost to trying different kinds of stuff if it meant she'd validate the death of Desti up until recently in Meggy's Destiny and Sunset Paradise, in which she had to come a peace with herself and find her own meaning to live; Melony is just repeating that cycle as she's doing what she can to not lose anyone again, which with the power she has can lead her onto a self-destructive path, which is something I know Meggy noticed and why she was on-board with helping out Melony rather than brush off her issues. She knows even though Melony was not the best at training, she needed it to find her own self-worth and peace whenever she decided to stop.
Not only that but we get coherent progression to both their character developments: Meggy's become Melony's personal trainer and ask herself if she's doing her best but keeps a positive outlook as she believes on herself and how meaningful the training might be of help to Melony. And we see Melony train for her friends in a quest to never let any kind of creature like Zero take another close one, even though her powers do seem beyond her control as of the moment, and is something she and Meggy need to explore in future episodes.

The tennis thing was something that happened at the end of Meggy's character arc. Maybe it should be apart of a side arc.

Now, she’s gone back to being the lazy and pointless side character she was back in 2020. It’s pathetic.
