looks good. What about the white balance ? did you see an effect ? and the sharpness ?
They’re as neutral as the best of ‘em. I haven’t used this model much but the older ones are my favorites of all the brands I own.
Interesting, but no shade or flags attachment?
Nope. So it’s not really a matte box. Just meant to be the “last filter you’ll ever buy”. It’s nice, but it is big.
You need to remove the VND Base filter to use the other filters as CPL
No you don’t. The VND base is a 1-stop ND on its own but it can be used with the CPL.
@@photojoseph Interesting.. so much confusion online about that. Thanks for confirming!
@@photojoseph Based on this fact, then it also means that if i’d like to use for instance a 2 stop Base instead of the 1 stop (so i get 2-7 and 8-10 instead)… then I could simply remove the Base ND and install one of my trusty Firecrest IRND in between the lens and the K2 system, right? The K2 would maybe even become some sort of IRVND! I know it might add vignetting with super wide angle lens.. but a still cool option! Hopefully Freewell will make more VND base strenght for shifting the whole range and allow us to push it less and get less cross polarization effect. This system opens up so much possibilities!
@@davidmultimedia2024 the sizing of that base VND is very thin and precise, so I wouldn’t count on it, but I like the idea!
@@photojoseph Well if you ever test that out before i get mine.. please let me know! They at least need to make one that is IR cut, since the competition (NiSi True Color VND) offers one that you can stack on the system. It would be a shame that they release one that goes in the square filter slot, when they could do it at the base.
The new Freewell K2 Filter system is on Indiegogo now - go here go learn more! geni.us/freewellK2
This filter set was sent to me by Freewell for evaluation prior to the Indiegogo launch. I have used several other Freewell filters over the years, along with many others from many other brands - and the Freewell are the ones I come back to over and over again.
