A good way to look at the island is to see it as the Eye of Terror from Warhammer 40k. Its existence is time manipulation. Everything can come into contact with it, but it may not be at the same point in time. That is how the Empire was able to make it there before the Republic. Something else i have noticed is that every time paradox seems to exist as well.

Yeah that makes sense to me. It’s why characters like Hopper from Stranger Things can be on the island when his universe is set in the 80’s, but Ellen Ripley from Alien can be there too when she’s from 2122, but also during the marvel crossover, the characters are gone for seconds in their reality, but are on the island for much longer
