I have been a Flames fan since I moved here in 1981 and will always be a Flames fan. BUT It is disappointing that the Flames can't hold on to star players. Tkachuk should have been named captain two years ago and signed to a long term contract. Then in 10 years or so we should have been hanging his retired jersey in the rafters along with the couple of Stanley Cup banners he could have won us. It still concerns me that there are still some key players unsigned. As the true optimistic I am hoping the new GM and coach can turn things around by creating an environment that players will want to stick around.

Would definitely be great if the Flames could hold a winning culture together for more than one year. It would really help us hold star players. And I totally agree Tkachuk should have been named captain and given a long term extension a couple years ago.
