- Data Acquisition & Testing Services used a train formed of East Midlands Trains 43054, London North Eastern Railway 91122, DB Cargo 90035, London North Eastern Railway 91128 and East Midlands Trains 43066 to test the newly erected Overhead Line Equipment between Bedford and Corby, seen passing Bedford
Certainly a bit of power there.
That scream it made is too good
Absolutely fantastic peace of performance ….well done 👍
Thank you!
Man do I miss the squealing fun of a 43 :D
Electric HST
Not really electric but 0:14 from this angle ye
those 91s/90 have the modern pantographs, also where those paxman valenta engines or vp185s?. thats a rare consist for sure lol, nice stuff.
Thank you! They were VP185s.
Valentas went out ages ago, I think the only ones left are the ex-grand central powercars that went out in 2010, dont know where they are now.
@@selooom 41001 is the only Valenta left as of now, but 43044 'Edward Paxman' is in the process of being re-Valenta'd, but I believe it still has its VP185 as of now.
@@TheosTrainsWalesOfficialthere’s a 56 with Velenta still too
@@trainspotterscott37419 No, 56's don't have Valenta engines, but the engines they had fitted to them were also made by Paxman. They were Ruston-Paxman 16RK3CT engines (yes, I had to look that up).
That is too powerful, having 91s run top an tailing is over 10K Hp, not to mention the other locos in the consist
Love it!
what in the experimental
That's cool❤
can someone pls tell me why 5 locos were needed for this test train and for 2 of them to be diesel?
Three Electric Locomotives are needed to test the Overheard Line Equipment under a heavy load.
Crikey 13500 hp ? That most of been some acceleration
almost as good sounding as a valenta
What's it testing for?
It was testing the newly erected Overhead Line Equipment.
All gone for scrap
Disappointing, really. They could have just given them to Network Rail or send them for export or preservation...
not really scraped if you see the first comment
