As a musician, the phonk version gave me like a headache haha. The NDP song is obviously in a major key, but the phonk fiverr artist didn't find the right (relative) minor key for his version. It was like hearing two completely different songs playing at the same time, for me personally.
Anyway. Love this concept Sneaky Sushii! Maybe next one you can collab with Singaporean artists too (like me hehe) instead of just Fiverr freelancers :)

it was so confusing to read "itsbittynow"'s explanation, and even weirder to see someone start with "as a musician" and get literally the entire music part of the explanation wrong. and dont get it twisted - your opinion is completely agreeable, but throwing the "im a musician" part in and literally factually explaining the music theory wrong is super weird, bro.
there doesnt exist an appropriate "right (relative) minor key", which is B minor in this case since the original is in D major. you cant go 1-6-4-5-6 in the chorus in B minor while overlaying the original song 1-6-4-5-6 in D major -- that makes no sense. and from your explanation its probable you dont know enough about music to understand what im saying, so how about you literally try strumming that B minor progression out while overlaying the NDP song on youtube. heck, try any chord in B minor and see how nothing works out.
so no, the artist didnt not find the "right" mode (mode, by the way, not key. major and minor are modes.) what he did wrong was simply not studioone the NDP song into D minor to match the phonk feel. and its phrygian, not minor, but let me not "complicate" things further (which im not doing, this is basic day one musician shit... please.)

iirc Korean language works so that it has to be pronounced Liver (like. assuming you’re using the Korean alphabet) because L and R share the same character and there’s some rule that controls whether it’s an L or an R
