Great content bro! I just got my first pair of Martens last night, I’ve watched a video of yours prior to help aid me in my decision. I went with the 1461 bex platform 3 eye for my first purchase. Definitely getting more in the future. Thank you again for the information🙏🏽.

My vote what to buy first:
    1. 1460 Black. Goes with everything.
    2. 1460 Cherry. The contrast looks great.
    3. Brown. Maybe chelsea?
    4. Get something fun that suits your personality, if you are female get tall boots or sandals. Guys maybe wingtips for suits.

Okay.. I agree with most of it.. I’ll say after 1460 then get the 1461… those two fit anything. Then something that fits your personality.. like Chelsea boots, wingtips

i use 2 layers of mink oil, let it sit overnight, and than use a shoe stretcher for a couple of days, proceed to than wear it with thicker socks for couple of hours a day for a week before I wore it out.

Good points man. I learned that there is a difference in sizing from the made in England (MIE) Docs and the made in Asia ones. The reason is because the MIEs use the original lasts whereas the Asia factories use a new last which is a little wider. I recommend trying on before buying if possible. I definitely agree that the 1460 is the best option for someone's first pair. I've had several over the years, but currently I have the black 1460 in Greasy. They are so soft right out of the box and had zero break in period. They have a flat finish as opposed to the shiny, plasticy look of the corrected grain originals. I happen to like that, but it's purely personal preference. On that note, as far as styling goes, this dude said it correct - style how you style. One of the reasons I love Docs so much is because to me they embody style over fashion. I don't care about fashion, but my Docs do speak about my style in a way. I think that's what many of us feel about our Docs.

My first pair of DM was 14 eye 1460’s back in 1993, UK 4 (I was 14 lol). Your channel has been helpful. I purchased a pair of patent Sinclairs in UK 4 (I am W 6.5-7). They fit but the tip of my right big toe touches the end. I’m going to keep them because my foot isn’t squashed z& I think the next size up is huge. I had the same issue with my docs from the 90’s. My right foot is about 1/4” bigger than my left. I think the sizing depends on the shoe though because I definitely need a UK 5 in the Chelsea and/or Molly, the pairs I tried were really small.

I'm 15 and I already own a pair of 1460. I would like to buy a pair of 1461. I went to the store to try the Made In England but they were too wide for my foot, but in length it was fine. My heel was coming off and I tried a size down and it was too small. So I don't know what to do.

the shoe does not hold my heel, and on my heel the shoe is very wide. On the other hand towards the front of the foot I feel good. It's really on the back of my foot where the shoe is wide.
I tried the vintage ones, maybe the smooth leathers will be better?
Maybe my foot is too thin?

I have got a problem with a new pair of Dr. Martens Made in England 1460 Ventile (i think it says that the leather is Dockyard made by Pittards). I was able to only find a UK 10 (EU45) (28.5cm) online, currently i am wearing a UK 13 (EU 48 1/2) (31.2cm) boot with about 4.5-5cm room between my biggest toe and the front of the Boot. The Docs fit almost perfectly, the only problem is that my longest toe is slightly sitting against the front of the Boot.
I was wondering if they would get a little looser when i would break them in or if i should get them stretched by a cobbler or if i should stretch them myself. Or if i really have to return or sell them. I hope someone out there could help me because i really like them and dont really want to return or sell them because there are no bigger sizes anymore.

I normally wear 42 shoe size, and my foot is like 28cm, but on the site, the size chart says that 28cm is 44 shoe number. This is very difficult to say.. are you a 42 in all other shoes you have? Also thinking about how your feet is.. if it is wide or have long toes then go with 44. I wear a 42 and it was a little bit tight but once you break into them they are more free and easy to wear. I hope that helps
