What a crystal clear, angelic voice you have, not to mention the range and control. Your struggles have finally paid off. You need more exposure in the USA. They (as I have) would be mesmerized by the melodies streaming from those golden vocal chords! Well done, young man . . . Well done !!!!!! Im a 53yr old woman,from South Africa,was diagnosed wth Depression 6yrs ago,and I fully agree about what you've said: That every day,every minute is a struggle for survival and that you didn't choose DEPRESSION, it Chose YOU. I'VE listened to each and every song you've sang,and boy oh boy,you just bring new meaning to them every time,whether it be original music or any artists,you just bring new meaning to it. There's a saying that says: When you're Happy you listen to the song,bt when you're sad,you understand the lyrics. Im super proud of you young man,AND I SALUTE YOU AND YOUR BEAUTIFUL FAMILY. I heard a while back that they were making a film about Prince. I'd heard that Bruno Mars was meant to be playing him. I said to my partner that you'd be the best man for the job. Now I've heard you sing a Prince song, and I stand by what I said.

As I compare the xfactor you and the modern day you I see the "things" they encouraged you to change...(I am only guessing but...) I imagine a couple of them were "look at people more and don't keep your eyes closed so much" and " try to tone down the giggle" (how am I doing so far?..LOL) Well, let me tell you young man...the giggle is just too sweet...and if it is part of your personality, do not allow them to take that from you...and if someone doesn't like it, well, there are many of us who do...as for "looking at people more/not closing your eyes so much"...THAT is what first got me hooked...you had so much feeling in every note and you were absorbed by the music...absolutely beautiful...so Jahmene...don't let them change you too much my friend...you are a gem...stay true to who you want to be instead of who others want you to be...and...what a beautiful tribute to those we lost...beautiful indeed! I know they are watching from the heavens so incredibly humbled by your sweet generous and thoughtful tribute.

Jahmene, That was a beautiful, and thoughtful tribute. You truly have a good heart. Also, when I hear you sing, I hear someone with an incredible voice that I know is going far in the music business. But, when I see you sing, I see so much emotion! You express yourself with your heart and soul. Most all good singers do that, but you take it to another level. It's like I can actually feel what you are feeling when I see you sing. I listen to almost all genres of music: Billie Holiday, Garth Brooks, Sarah Jarosz, Marvin Gaye, Judas Priest, and Maroon 5 just to name a few. I like feeling the music. I like seeing the artists project their feelings when they sing. You are special! You lose yourself in every word of every song. I am a HUGE fan, but so far, since the release of your new LP, I haven't been able to acquire it here in the US. Is it to be released here at a later date?

Jahmene, reading all these comments was such a pleasure. For you do have the voice that captures any song, like it belonged to you. Singing with natural soul can only be done by a vocalist who puts himself in a place inside, to feel every single emotion. The trick is in the delivery, and to be honest, most can't make the transfer. But you, Mr. Master of Soul, nail it every time. Continue experimenting with all types of songs, because you alone can sing them. God Bless You from your biggest fan.

Jahmene, okay, as with everything with me, you will have a laugh. When I was in the school chorus, I sang soprano. The next year I became an alto. And , the next, I had no voice at all - I was all off key. And that is how I remain,but when I sing along with songs now, I can feel all of it in my heart. And I have more soul than one woman should have. And your music does all that for me - I feel every single beat. So, it's sad for me to say, I can't join you in a duet. I also hope that you have maintained a friendship with James. To me, at the winner announcement, I thought that he struggled to stop holding you. There was such genuine pain on his face. I've watched it many times. There was not even a hint of the usual, instant smile of delight. His face looked broken hearted ! He immediately, almost urgently, just reached over and wrapped you in his arms.
I have followed James a bit and I know that he's crashed badly, a couple of times since winning. I really like that, similar to you, he is publicly outspoken about his struggles. Open & unashamed to share, to try to help others, as you do. I believe, from what he's said,
that his faith has helped to give him strength.
