    My wife and I conducted a reasonably good search of new Premium Crossovers and the Cadillac XT5 Platinum won hands against all comers foreign and domestic.

    The radio buttons on the steering wheel are tons easier to use than the volume touch!

    I totally agree with you Sam with regards to the black plastic. It should be body color for its price tag. Would choose a black color of this ride or just paint or wrap the plastic parts.

    Why do you auto journalists always complain about a knob for the volume on the radio when you have steering controls,why would you feel the need to distract yourself just to turn up the volume when all you need to do is use your thumb and not take a hand off the wheel or your eyes off the road.I like your reviews other than this one knob fetish

      Well, he adequately explained that, so there's no need to go off on a rant over it.

    Why anyone would buy a Lincoln over this is nutz. Lincolns are fugly for one and two, unreliable. Great vid.

    I live in Colorado, so the gravel road was good information. Thank you.
    Some of the rest seems superfluous.

    On a CUV or SUV the black breaks the design up so it is not bulky. Everyone does it on every level of the market so what is he talking about. 2 old men use to complain about single din radios back int he day. They ran TV ads about them being detracting.......same thing all over again.
    Still very handsome.....CUV and reviewer.

    I watched your comparison video with the MKX, both are lovely but when I laid eyes on the xt5 I really fell in love with it. I am so concerned about dependability as I've stated in more comments. When is the last time Cadillac has had any issues with their vehicles, or how could I find out? I do like the xt5 interior a little better and it's the perfect size suv for me. I actually got sick of body style of the RX 350 real quick too, it doesn't really have a classic, timeless look. Great videos by the way ❤

    It pisses me off so much that when you look at the window stickers from some off these 50-60 thousand dollar vehicles , they have the gall to gouge you $495 - $995 for paint, thats just plain greedy already.If anything put it into the base price of the vehicle......

    • @leonardyoung6821
      @leonardyoung6821 Před 7 lety

      Metallic paint is more expensive to apply. Tri Coat paints are even more expensive. There are no-charge colors available that are not Metallic or Tri Coat. Radiant Silver and Black Raven are most common choices for Cadillac.

    • @lamaryarbray2437
      @lamaryarbray2437 Před 3 lety

      Totally agree with you! Why do they play those games with the paint scheme and prices?! Making pearl white paint can’t be anymore difficult than producing metallic blue paint. Always trying to gouge the consumer. On another note they may as well not advertise base prices because most of the time you’re not paying base price for a car once you drive off the lot. They always seem to throw in some option that you have to pay for even if you want the “base” car.

      Please tell me your opinion of the start/stop engine feature and the electronic shifter. I've have no experience with either feature and heard good and bad. I met a man with an XT5. He said when taking off from a green light sometimes the car would not go. The RPMs would rev but no movement. Do you think he just had a lemon?

    • @SometimeAgo65

      @@sheilalashay5927 I saw a lady at a stop light one day and I'm assuming she was having some problems with that Start/ Stop function. Her vehicle was stalling almost to the point of causing an accident. If I can't turn it off in the XT5, as with the MKX, then it will def be a deal breaker for me..I absolutely hate it!!

    Lots of leg room ... yes ... lots of head space ... yes ... but ... but .... are you 5'-6" or 6'-4" ... Americans want vehicles that can accommodate four passengers who are 6'-4' ... as Chevies and Cadies did cars did in the 1960's

      Does your husband fit comfortably in the back seat? I saw a review with a guy who claimed to be 6' 1" and when he sat in the rear his head was touching the headlining. He reckoned the max height for someone in the back was perhaps 5' 11" or so. The car had the glass panoramic roof. What do you think?

    Do you really want a growl in a vehicle of that class? Cadillac never brings innovation to the market yet always gets higher than merited ratings, knock me if you wish BMW, Mercedes, Audi, nor Ford rebadge their cars from other manufacturers and markets like GM does. At best that car is 4 star..

    • @rueben44

    • @tommy605
      @tommy605 Před 7 lety +3

      Ahhhhh hahahaha. "Cadillac never brings innovation to the market yet always gets higher than merited ratings"
      How about the electric starter for cars? Too far back? How about we roll ahead a few decades and a whole bunch of other innovations in that time. Automatic climate control. Still too far back? We can roll ahead and skip more innovations.
      Electric seat warmers.
      How about variable displacement? 1981 for Cadillac.
      Magnetic ride. An innovation so good that even supercar manufacturers (ie Ferrari) have bought the rights to use it in their vehicles because, oh, it's superior to anything else out there by miles.
      The first to use GPS for customer use, in this case, with On Star.
      Lane departure warning
      Blind spot warning
      But hey, you go ahead and think they don't innovate. They seem to not have an innovation to fix ignorant though.
