  • The Kisumu county government is projecting to boost its revenue collection to 2.2 billion shillings in this financial year following the rollout of a fully automated revenue collection platform. Speaking to Citizen TV, Kisumu County Revenue Board chairman Hezron Macobewa indicated that the system that uses a combination of USSD code, STK option and a mobile application will seal all loopholes of graft where the county loses about 30% of its daily revenue collections due to non remittance by some of the clerks. The county collected less than 1.2 billion shillings in the last financial year with the current integrated revenue collection system expected to increase the figure two-fold
