Salem has some really cool old buildings. Just be aware that they have tight doorways and staircases which can present problems fitting furniture, especially large couches or queen box springs.
We’re moving there next year from Colorado.
Nice! I have a closing in Salem on Federal St this week which should be fun with Haunted Happenings in full swing!
Hit me up if you guys will need a Realtor! joe@bentleysrealestate.com
Born and raised here, my family's business is also located here. it's overcrowded, tax burdened
(Thanks to Driscoll )
and the historic charm has been ruined by the over development
Plan on relocating
That’s most of Massachusetts (or taxachusetts) Luckily New Hampshire is a good option before heading to Florida!
I live right on the border next to Seabrook. i take 95 to and from work every day. It's nice not getting robbed with sales tax there. Hopefully, it'll stay that way, NH is the only fiscally responsible state left in New England
You get around there without the car or do you need a car or what's the best way to get around
Downtown Salem, The Point, and the Waterfront- you can mostly get around without a car just by walking. The rest of Salem I would say needs a car in most cases! (So North Salem, South Salem, Highland Ave/West Salem, & the Willows)
Hi Joe, Do you have more info for transporation? We are potentially relocating from Seattle. Google showed me a train ride into Boston at 1.5-2 hours...so I think I am looking at the wrong thing. Thanks for any help!
Hi Hailey! It's possible that google was accounting for the time waiting for the next train as the schedule in Salem is usually 30 minutes to an hour between trains. The ride itself is about half an hour. MBTA.com lets you see the schedule for the commuter rail- Salem is on the Newburyport/Rockport Line, just make sure the direction is inbound to North Station (Boston)
Hope this helps but feel free to reach out with any questions!
@@joeshomes wow, thank you for replying to me! I really appreciate it. If we find ourselves that way it will be in the next few months and I will reach out.
