Hey guys ! So i did a few month ago a rendering about the phase 2 of 'Your Contract has Expired' (from the outstanding game called 'A Hat in Time'), but the quality was not that great, and some people missed the special pause at the beginning that i forgot when i posted the first one. This version is the answer for all of that, and a way better version (with a bonus video of me versus the snatcher, coz why not). I hope you enjoy it ! :D

Sup' les gens ! J'avais déjà fait un rendu de la phase 2 de 'Your Contract has Expired', une musique tirée de l'excellente OST du tout aussi excellent jeu 'A Hat in Time', mais ledit rendu avait quelques défauts, comme le volume, la qualité sonore et surtout l'absence de la pause marquante au début. Donc me voilà aujourd'hui avec une bien meilleure version, corrigée et toute propre (avec en bonus une petite séquence de gameplay de moi contre le snatcher, parce que pourquoi pas !). Partagez en masse cette nouvelle version, pour qu'elle détrône la précédente, et j'espère qu'elle vous plaira !!! :D - Hry

Snatcher: Calls using his own attack against him cheating.
Also Snatcher: Takes our hats away so we can't use abilities.
What would you even use?

@@darkmonger6244 Tbh I doubt him stealing the hat had anything to do with his use of potions I think thst was more just cause its kinda gothic and evil looking like how Snatcher is meant to look.

I love how Snatcher is actually rather feeble. It makes sense, for all of his insane powers, he's not used to being vulnerable. He's counting on just relaxing out of reach and blasting you until you can't dodge anymore. When he gets splatted, the rules of the world mean he HAS to come after you himself.
(And to anyone who points out The birds never turn blue? The Conductor and DJ Grooves are WEARING blue, so they're always vulnerable.

Meanwhile I just randomly slapped around with the umbrella and hit the right one in two out of three times he did that, survived with one health somehow despite being that bad at fighting bosses in this game

Snatcher when blue: Ah yes, i May be Blue but hat kid will definately wont hit me when i come right next to her with my Melee attacks

Well knowing He was vulnerable probably led to fear and desperation, and that deadly mix often leads to dumb decisions.
According to Google, blue can represent confidence, so Snatcher is confident that Hat Kid won't be able to him no matter how close he gets. He was wrong.
I mean it could be that he was blinded by rage due to the fact that the dialog before 2 phase starts he sounds pretty pissed

0:10 I really like this attack for the visuals. The first time I dealt with the attack I got lucky and hit him. The second time I noticed he telegraphs that attack by winking. It’s easy to counter but it’s fun to me
Same! Since I love to play the Mario and Luigi RPGs, that was, for me anyway, super easy to counter, and a neat Easter egg to those games.
It's easy to counter...when you know the pattern. Otherwise, it's a coin flip

My Switch has stopped playing this song. Every other boss plays their music fine, but nothing I do can fix this one, I just have to fight in complete silence. Of all the glitches I’ve experienced in my life, this is perhaps the most depressing.
This is one of if not the best song in the game.
Aaaaw a hat in time. My favorite
This fight with snatcher, was so good, sombcon forest was my least favorite place since it was so scary, unnerving music, spooky visuals, that talking noose, the queen, even snatcher when he decides to spoock you, this fight with snatcher was the best send off, so easy to just die when you dont know what to do, his got so much power over you, bottles, laser blasts, doubles, ground pounds. Uts near impossible to think that a small child can beat him with an umbrella.
And yet you do, i love this game, this music completes the fight, it reminds this is a fight for your soul, that you are fighting a being of pure darkness, a monster, and yet small, you can beat him..... sorry ^^; i just love this game. And the little joke when you got your soul back.

You're welcome ! Yeah, this song seems nowhere to be found besides this video. Strange. But I guess that they didn't put the phase 2in the official soundtrack because it's just a small remix of the original "Your Contract has expired". ^^
The pitch change and the pause are done within the code of the game. It's just the original song, so that's why they didn't include it.

The only differences I can tell are that pause at about 0:10, the slightly upped tempo, and that the melody feels a little more pronounced, but that might just be because of the key change.

I you are learning this on drums like me, it helps to put the video in 0.75x speed because you can hear the drum kick noises easier.
The worst part of this song is that snatcher dies so quickly you dont hear the whole thing

What's the difference between phase 1 and 2 songs?
The pitch and the tempo : they are slightly higher than "phase 1" (plus, "phase 2" has an extra pause at the beginning of its song)
How much health did the mod bring?
Hard mode gives snatcher 14 health, Sadistic 30 health (and removes the healing orbs at some point), and the last mode gives him 50 health and only one health for you !

Quick question. Why is Snatcher fighting you? Sorry, another question. Is it optional or part of the story?
Because he can, that's why ! :D And it's part of the story, but you can skip it if you have enough Time pieces (but if you want them all, you have to kick his butt)
Basically, Snatcher doesn't NEED you anymore, and he doesn't want to be seen as a softy, so he decides to eliminate you.

Is the reason one of Snatcher's attacks is screaming because he would have been doing a lot of it while locked up in Vanessa's dungeon

You just have to look at his eyes. The eye he blinks with is actually showing you which side the real snatcher will be :)
