  • Every Sunday from 21st May to 11th September 2016, Great Western Railways is running two or three services a day between Exeter St. James's park and Okehampton. The stretch of the Tarka line from Crediton to Okehampton is very rarely used, making this summer a nice opportunity to explore Okehampton and eastern Dartmoor. Also, leaving
Okehampton station every half and hour or so is the class 08 shunter train service to Meldon via Meldon Viaduct. This service is private, but nice. If you want to see my vlog of today, I will upload it next.

Usually four trains each way a day. I enjoyed a trip this year and followed it up with trips to Sampford Courtenay, Barnstaple, Morchard Road and Exmouth.

The shed just outside Exeter St David's looks like something the Okehampton lot could purchase and restore to make a welcome addition to their set up.
