It will be 15-20 years until I can get behind the wheel of that beast of a audi. Since these cars get more rare over the years, what’s the best way I can get one and what are the exhaust mods
Just keep looking through different market places, I looked for about a year before I found mine, picked it up for $5,000 with a spare intake manifold, fresh plugs and coils, and 110k miles. Exhaust mod wise the most popular by far is a resonator delete which I did, sounds great but can still be quiet if you just want a regular drive to work. Miltek also makes a really nice system but its pretty pricy at $3k, JHM also has a similar system. Muffler and resonator I found drones like crazy and sounds kinda like a fart can at low rpms.
TLDR: Yes it is, just look into carbon buildup and intake manifold flaps. 0 catastrophic failure points but it needs regular maintenance to keep it running at full potential. Carbon buildup on the intake valves will affect performance very much if left untreated. It can also cause misfires as well and reduce fuel efficiency. It is something to keep an eye on and have treated every 15K miles. Normal on many direct injection NA engines especially Audi FSI. Faulty intake manifold flaps (not the throttle bodies, google it you’ll know what I’m talking about) is the other issue. The flaps inside the intake manifold are made of plastic and have a high chance of breaking. They are used to direct airflow between long and short runners to maximize either high-end horsepower or low-end torque, both of which will be affected when the flaps break. The engine can run just fine with bad airflow as it poses no risk of damage to the engine. You have 3 main courses of action here: 1) remove the flaps. 2) stick them permanently in either long or short positions depending on what you prioritize (long runners for low torque, short runners for high hp). 3) buy a new manifold. Try to steer away from used ones as they have the same design flaw. JHM and Audi both offer new ones with the issue fixed (JHM is considerably cheaper). At the end of the day though, its almost always the connections between the flaps that break and not the flaps themselves. So if you wanna get creative with it, you can. Some of the ideas i had for mine are 1) inserting a square metal rod through the middle of the connections to keep them together even if the plastic snaps. 2) having metal replicas made. However I didn’t do either of them so I can’t tell you if they’re feasible or not.

@@gtr1911 5,2 Liter V10 Saugmotor ist in nem KFZ auch einfach nicht mehr zeitgemäß oder angebracht wenn man sich überlegt dass wir in ein paar Jahrzehnte ganz schöne Probleme bekommen wenn wir nicht langsam mal n bisschen zurück schrauben. Meanwhile macht n a45s mit 2 Litern Hubraum aus 4 Zylindern fast so viel Leistung wie der 5,2er.
Auch wenn der Beitrag schon älter ist....Was ist das genau für eine Auspuffanlage? Habe meinen A6 komplett neu aufgebaut und bin zu 90 Prozent fertig. Auspuffanlage fehlt noch, daher die Frage. Wie heißt die Anlage ? Beste Grüße.

Da beschreibt der User Raphael die Anlage. Btw. das ist ein S6 Wenn du diese bei deinem A6 drunter schraubst, wirst du ein völlig anderes Klangergebnis erhalten! LG
