Rock n Roll Roast of Dee Snider - Dee Gets Revenge!

- On January 24, Revolver and Guitar World teamed up to host the 2nd Annual Rock & Roll Roast at the Grove in Anaheim, California.
The event, which was presented by Peavey Electronics and sponsored by Epiphone and Monster Energy Drink, featured sets by Black Label Society guitarist Zakk Wylde (last year's Roast honoree), Scott Ian, comedian Jim Norton, That Metal Show co-hosts Jim Florentine and Eddie Trunk, Lita Ford, comedian Craig Gass and Snider's son, actor and comedian Shane Snider.
The event also included video roasts by Shatner, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Alice Cooper, Fozzy frontman Chris Jericho, Donald Trump, Sebastian Bach, Steel Panther, Playboy Playmate Brande Roderick and others.
On the night of the Roast, fans followed the action via Twitter (#DEEROAST) and watched the event live on AXS TV. Proceeds from the event benefit MusiCares, a nonprofit organization of The Recording Academy that provides financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to music people in need.

IT'S LIKE DEE WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO UNDERSTOOD WHAT A ROAST WAS. WASN'T THE MOST ORIGINAL MATERIAL BUT FOR A ROAST WASN'T BAD. SEEMED LIKE EVERYONE WAS TAKING HIM SERIOUSLY. SURE SOMETIMES HE JUST WENT FOR THE EASY HIT. BUT DID THEY NOT HIT DEE JUST AS HARD.
An audience full of stoners, has been actors, celebrities and comedians...they were too busy on ludes so they didn't understand Dee's jokes. He was funny what a shame

Mark Foster the audience was awful. According to Jim Florentine's podcast (who wrote many of the jokes and was also part of the dais) the audience was more of a music crowd than a comedy crowd.
It wasn't a major production and the audience obviously wasn't well recorded (if at all). It did make Dee's rebuttal seem a bit uncomfortable. lol

When i met Lita at a convention, she said she knew the basis of what was gonna be thrown her way. But didnt expect it to be the only thing. So she felt the humor aspect of it fell flat after awhile.

Have you seen many modern-era roasts, like the comedy central series? That's completely the normal tone. Lita knew exactly what she was in for. And, with her pedigree as a chick in the hard rock world since the 70's, she's not exactly shy around this kinda talk. Also, there was some truth to Dee's jokes, it's all fair if someone agrees to come to one of these.
there's a reason why the title is 'DEE GET REVENGE'. U guys should watch the whole show. They all bashed him hard before his turn to get on the speaker stand. Its 'pay back time'. Its fine if only 2 guys is laughing.

I think he's so into himself that he reacted in a negative way with his roast. His humor was mean spirited and turned the audience and guests off.

+John Coffey I guess you never watched a roast. All of the humor is mean-spirited. That's how they work. Everyone gets their digs in at the roastee then the roastee retaliates at the end. It's all scripted. Most of the jokes are written by other people. Dee didn't write his material, he's reading pre-written jokes from a teleprompter. Watch some of the Comedy Central roasts and you'll see the same formula at work.

This is why I give props to real comedians. They can verbally destroy you and still make you laugh. Poor Lita wasn't impressed. LOL
