  • I was never one for using sunroofs and much less convertibles. That all changed after I drove the 2022 BMW M4 Competition Convertible. As if the convertible aspect didn’t get you attention, the Toronto Red Metallic color will definitely do the job. Even though the M Carbon exterior package costs a whopping $4,700, it is worth the money to see that pattern all around the car. The adaptive LED headlights not only looked amazing, they shined the road cleanly as you reach speeds that felt like the speed of light!
I have never been a fan of wheels being a different size diameter in the front, compared to the back. This M4 was equipped with 19” fronts and 20” rears. It seems like a headache when tire wear comes into play and they can’t be rotated. The overall heights were virtually the same so I couldn’t see the benefit to keeping them the same. Either way, the design and color did look great against the red.
When you hop in, the brown colored leather interior looked spectacular. I’m glad this was a convertible to allow you to share or show off this beautiful colored interior. I had the M4 convertible during the summer so the top was down, AC blasting cold, and seats set to venting. I probably would’ve had the top down if it was winter because this had the neck warmer option for those Texas days that start at 40 degrees.
The 3.0L turbo inline 6-cylinder delivered power instantly at any torque range. The power band felt almost EV like in instant torque. Don’t worry though because it didn’t fall flat at high RPMs as EVs often feel like. This M engine kept wanting to climb and climb to the redline and asked for the next gear.
I recall telling my wife after running an errand in the M4 Convertible, “I can’t wait to have my midlife crisis and have to buy the M4 Convertible”. I have now become a convertible lover.

I agree. I hated it from the initial press pictures but when I saw it in real life, it needed that bold design for its size.

@@Revmatchmedia Yeah, I’m in that process, just concerned that being an M car would make me compromise relaxed ride quality. From your review looks like BMW nailed it with this one.

@@ernestosolis1993 Don't go M5 because even in "comfort" mode, it was extremely harsh. The M4 was dialed in perfectly.

Thank you! I didn’t like in the press photos but when I saw it in real life, it looked great and fits the size
