Im reading mistral takeoff ,while i was watching i thought it was a pan am. In any case it gladdened my fond heart to see it out mixing it up and hats off to the captain. I recently bought a new starboard phantom 377 because aside from concorde it is the most beautiful thing i ever saw. I havnt sailed it once and i imagine ill never master it. Like most of us who started in the 80s im a hook in and hold on defensive sailor. The more wind the better. have the gear and the mentality for west of ireland. have nil finesse. Nevertheless i own a phantom and i love looking at it. Thats all.
When Mistral was a top top brand and now sadly to be found in the middle of Lidl on rash vests (I bought one for old times sake) and on average quality SUPs. I had a few in the mid to late 80’s, brilliant quality and always the fastest boards on the water 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
El Niño is the good one. Is what it should be. La Niña was the not normal conditions and it has been active for 3 years wich is again not normal. We never had her for more than 2 years in a row. The problem this summer is that we are going to be changing from one to the other. Will see what happens.
