It's a great mix of an outdoor style dinner plus a show - and makes a great rainy day activity too (thanks to their outdoor covered tent area!). We got a luau-style dinner and checked out the Elvis tribute show. Other performers included a Michael Jackson, a local performer, and a fire-knife dancer as well!

For sure! Super easy & convenient to walk there 💯. They do discounted parking with validation too if someone prefers to drive.
After a little more research about Rock A Hula , I found out that it’s not promoted. With the hoards of people from Australia going to Waikiki , I have never seen anything on CZcams about it. And no one has ever mentioned it. I did find a CZcams clip from 6 years ago. And there is some reviews on TripAdvisor. I’m definitely booking this next year when I’m there. I have friends who have to been Waikiki several times and they let you know what to do there but never mentioned RockAHula .. This is truely a HIDDEN GEM of Waikiki

I recently watched a video of a couples' first visit to Hawaii on a 4 island cruise. They had three days on Oahu, so they went to three different Luaus at Sea Life Park, Chief's, and PCC. All three luaus used the same jokes, and were basically the same thing, just different locations! I felt bad for them. 😞
Rock-a-Hula would have at least given them something different. 😊
(The luau on their cruise ship even used the same jokes!)

And that couples' visit makes total sense. Chief Sielu (of Chief's Luau) was originally at PCC before he started his own show. That show was hosted at Sea Life Park for about 5 years before Chief moved venues to Wet n' Wild waterpark. The Sea Life Park Luau (Ka Moana Luau) and the NCL one are both hosted by the same entertainment company (Malu Productions) www.maluproductions.com/ourshows.

We had this dinner show booked in November 2020 for our anniversary. It was cancelled due to Covid. We return in March 2023. I have booked this experience again. Thank you for this video. It is helpful.

I am planning to take mom to Oahu ,Wikiki...( she used to live there for a short time in her 20's) for her birthday celebration in January !! I am a vegetarian & she is a pescatarian ! I will be in Oahu the end of March next year it will be my first trip to Hawaii. I am a big Elvis fan in fact one of the main reasons I wanted to visit Hawaii was his love for Hawaii and to see Pearl Harbor and the U.S.S. Arizona memorial.
I was debating on not doing a Luau because I have actually heard a lot of negative reviews but with this being so close to where we are staying it really is a no brainer and having the show separate that's even better no travel time, no driving and we both can enjoy a drink.
I didn't want to travel far I am not renting a car during my time in Oahu.
The food looked amazing. Thank you again greatly appreciated 🤗

Thanks for watching! If you're an Elvis fan, I think you'd love the show. This more like a dinner show with luau food rather than a "traditional luau" with only Polynesian entertainment since it mixes in the Vegas-style tribute for Elvis and Michael Jackson. The food was really good. The company Rock-a-Hula is actually owned by Star of Honolulu which is a dinner cruise. Super delicious! And I totally agree, the convenience of it being in Waikiki is perfect if you're not looking to travel far. The seating we had was the "Luau Buffet" option where we dined outdoors and had the tiered seating for the show. The seating that's "VIP Luau" looks like it's the stageside closer seating (link in description box).

@@YestoHawaii Thank you so much for replying. What I love more about this is that it is a buffet. My friend going with me doesn't eat chicken or fish. This gives her the option of pork and beef and a lot more items that you showed so to me it is a better value for the money spent.

What is "vegan" tofu? Coz, if am remembering rightly, traditional tofu is made w/soybeans & nigari as coagulant, just wondering...Keep the videos coming
Good question! 😊I probably should have said "vegan tofu dish" instead of just "vegan tofu." I've eaten at some places where it's a tofu stir-fry dish that has cheese products on it which makes the dish vegetarian only instead of vegan. Thanks for watching!!
