In the mid 80's we took an NBC Studios tour. As luck would have it she walked past me and my brother in law from a back parking lot entrance. No one else in the group noticed her but we did. She was absolutely breathtaking to say the least. She actually said in a light southern drawl "Hey Fellas..." To this day we still talk about it. LOL..!

Most were that way in the 70’s and 80’s too, but things changed in the 90’s (growth hormones, increase in available processed foods, antibiotics in food, etc). @@Adino1 As someone that grew up on Bob in his final years, and was as big a fan of him as anyone at the time (being known for it in school even), I agree with you, between the way the show had to move quicker as time went on due to time constraints and Bob preferring to do shows as live to tape as possible and Bob's own ego getting bigger along the way, let alone the various scandals that came up in turn involving him, this era beginning right around this period (or the period where he began his famous bow he'd use up till he retired and little opening monologues that he did up through around 1995 or so) was really the best. The show and Barker both hit their peak about this time and I'd suspect it had as much to do with the overall longevity the show has turned out to have as anything.

From being on a debut movie called, "The Goddess Of Love," from winning the Guiness Book Of World Records for clapping hands most of every show when a contestant spins the wheel on the show. It gave her great effort to host the show while Mickey's gf "Minnie" turns the puzzle board. Now that's a great accomplishment for Vanna. Some contestants would give up on game shows, but I believe God was watching her knowing somethings good waiting up her alley.
Who would have ever guessed when Vanna was a contestant on this episode back in 1980 that just about two short years later she'd become one of the most famous women in game show history as the new hostess/letter turner of Wheel of Fortune succeeding Susan Stafford, and even still is going strong in the position to this day. It is very interesting and honestly quite bizarre to see her before becoming the big name everyone and their dog knows, and though Vanna unfortunately didn't get up on stage with Bob that day this was just the beginning of her amazing career that has lasted over 36 years and counting.

At least she won a consolation prize for being a contestant throughout the show. It shows you that you must know your prices a little better than those who might outbid you or underbid you.
