Wow! This is the best put together video I have seen on CZcams. Amazing craftsmanship and video skills. Look forward to more. Thanks
Absolutely a pleasure to watch your videos.
i really like how that lure swam and the depth of it too, the shimmer coats really came out nice too!
best lure making videos on CZcams! so relaxing to watch and the videography is the icing on the cake. keep making lures for you are an inspiration.
I have been watching your videos for a while now and the quality of your work as well as the quality of your videos are second to none. Thank you for sharing your work and talent, it is very much appreciated.
+Dan Breyfogle thanks, for watching should be back in the saddle some time this week
An excellent clear, concise video and to top it off in an English Accent for a change. Thank you👍😷👍🏴
Awesome, your work is top-notch!
Incrível o capricho e a técnica que vc usa!!
Realmente você é um artista!!!
Amazing the whim and the technique do you use !!
Really you are an artist !!!
You are amazing Paul.
Great job. perfect presentation. magnificient result.
Congratulations from The Bosphorus...
Always enjoy watching your videos. It is much more satisfying to catch a fish on a lure you have made than with one you have purchased. Anybody getting into this I would suggest you start out simple, such as a beer tab lure and then go from there! The only limit is your imagination
Great video, Love your work
After a tough summer of work, I am planning my river days off. Imagine how much more full and relaxing is the addition of well crafted lures. I quite thank you for the suggestions to add the prep. time in craft while I count down the days to time on the river to rest and refresh. Superb. Thank you. M.
Incredible craftsmanship. This is really cool stuff!
Great video. I was
waiting for this second part.
Fantastic Paul Adams!!!
That is awsome man love your videos keep them coming please. Looking forward to your next one.
Your videos are inspiring and, if I might say, tranquilizing. I zone out to these while at work all the time! Thank you so much for posting!
David Dudley I few people have said similar things, i am wondering whether i should slip some subliminal messages like advertising for my channel. Thanks
Great video!!! Outstanding ideas!
I really like how you added a clip of you catching a decent size pike with the lure you made.
I had just set up the camera to see if i could get some casting shots, and took that on about seventh or eight cast, i then tried to film the close up of the reel and caught another smaller pike from the same spot, it was a lucky night, thanks
Brilliant video paul keep them coming mate
Another great video! I like how you included fishing at the end!! you really go the extra mile on the details, I would have a hard time throwing that beauty!
I think i have developed a strong disrespect for my own creations, beacuse i know i can make them again, cheers
Paul, you are amazing at what you do. Great video.
Gerry
Great job, nice lure, and of course a beautiful pike. Big Like.
I wish i had the skills (and materials) that you have for making such a fantastic looking lure! Keep up the nice work.
Thanks, I think i went a bit over the top with this lure, i am planning to go back to basics in thenext few videos and make some lures than don't require all that kit
Wow. Super cool video! I don't think I have half of the tools n stuff you used but you inspired me to give it a shot with what I got. Great stuff!!
An artist at work...
Subbed. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating. That lure looked perfect in the water to me. And that jackpike. Great work!
Another great video paul !
This is a legit show well done sir
Your videos are awesome in every way! Thank you so much for making these and I can't wait to get started with my first lure :D
I still have me first fishing and i still remember catching my first fish on, good luck
this is art! thanks Paul
Wow. That looks great. Hope you catch lots of fish with it!
Awesome job !! Cheers from Canada.
Hey thanks Paul for everything
Your a Very smart Man, Thanks for sharing your Knowledge.
Nice job very good video enjoyed it
I don't know that I ever really wanted to make a lure... however, now that I have somehow stumbled onto your channel and watched over an hours worth of extraordinarily well made tutorials on the subject, I have quite the hankerin' to make a bunch. Haha
Seriously though, I can't stop watching these videos... I think I have a problem!
ORyan McEntire maybe some addiction are not that bad, thanks
that was beautiful! like an art, just got inspired, thx! :)
Gonna deffo have a go at one of these lures, might even try them out at that big body of water seeing as it's my local 😉 awesome work 👌
Beautiful!
Wow very nice lure and video
first time i have seen someone use displacement to balance lure buoyancy, great idea.
It worked, the lure sank very slowly and it is great for quickly getting an idea of weight required but i think it would still benefit from a bit of old fashioned manual adjustment. THanks
...Petri...Paul!
Well done!
Awesome, well done
VERY GOOD VIDEO MATE
Great channel mate keep it up
Great video Paul ;)
Excellent work Paul, interesting, enjoyable and highly informative. Many thanks, keep them coming! Jan
Jan Porter Cheers just working on new one, i saw your interview with the angling times a good while ago and i enjoyed that informal style without all the bollocks, so it has set me off a bit down the road of doing some interviews with small tackle makers as well but hopefully showing what people are passionate about and why rather than just the process of making . So Cheers for that
Thank you, I enjoyed it too, at the time I'd just got out of hospital after a major op so 'laid back' is something I was into in a big way at the time. :)
Kind regards and looking forward to your next project Paul.
I really enjoy your video.
nice looking lure
Wao, is amazing. Best and excelent work.
es un excelente trabajo bien hecho
So sick man :D Amazing job, so envy you your skills ;D
ooo kogo my tu mamy :D siema Ace! :D
Przy okazji znasz jeszcze jakieś fajne filmy o robieniu woblerów/kogutów?
Nice work ! I'm impressed by each video! +1
Great job! Totally cool!
Hello Paul
I will never be tired to repeat how great are your videos... I am very close to start doing my own lures following your steps and my own creations. I am almost ready, just waiting some stuffs to arrive to my home and that's all. I am really eager to begin. Thank you for your tips and hints....
Que buen video, muy original y muy instructivo, práctico...
Nice work !
super nice youre videos is the best
Rapala have some serious competition! Nice video, nice fish and nice one our kid. :)
I have to listen close to fully understand you; but, that was another great one. Your tenacity is just unbelievable. Thanks, JEE.
I take is a compliment that you would go to the trouble of listening closely, sound wise i think i do need to concerntrate a bit more on the wording of the voice overs and delivery i think I am still trying to get that mix right of what i can convey through the images and what i can actually say. Thanks for the feeback it helps
It amazes me how similar pike are from Europe to American pike. If they are native then it's crazy that a fish separated by an ocean is so similar.
yes they leave the same kind of bite marks in your hands if you mess up unhooking them like do for time to time
A pleasure to watch, liking you narration; so better than a screaming yank.
Amazing videos congratulations!
Классный джерк!!!Отличная робота!!!Палец в верх!!!
Very nice tutorial
Cool lure
A Good video and tutorial, keep on it bro
Muy buen trabajo estupendo acabado.
No lures were injured in the making of this video. Don't try shooting your lures except at an approved shooting range with professional lure shooting supervision.
GOOD WORK!
First time out with them and I caught fish!
muy buenos tus videos
Amazing! Congratulation
Great tutorial
Great Paul! I would be heartbroken if I lost one of those lures after hours and hours of making!
You lose one and it is just an excuse to make another, cheers
it feels like I've waited forever for this second part and it was definitely worth it. don't know how but the quality of videos you produce just seem to get better every time. thanks for making a potentially boring as bat shit video a pleasure to watch. cheers
Sorry about the delay, i am learning on the job and also trying to fit in something a little new in terms of production in every vid, so they do not look all the same. I think it is still a balance between getting information over at a speed that makes sense while not boring people. Thanks
Thanks paul iv been making your lours for ages and still going i just nees to work on my panting so thanks
Breaeden Werry Thanks I am glad you have found the videos useful, hope you have caught some nice fish as well, I still need to work on my painting aswell
***** i recon your painting is good i cave some to my friend i am 13 and i love fishing to the moon and back
***** do you think you could make a murry cod and yellow bally loure pleas if you want i would muchly aprshat it
Awesome!!!!
very nice!
He is like the Jonathan Ive of the lure world
gerat music and hilarious bit , i never grow tired tossing wood at em , hehehe
you too, thank you for the response..
Excellent you are a Master, I would like to ask a question, Can you develop with pine wood, cedar or mahogany that are more common for my region? Would there be any variation in the leads to add? Sorry that my English is not very good. Greetings from Mexico.
there must have been quite a bit of zinc in the lead you poured( at least judging from the color of it) if your able to find pure lead you don't have to use as much weight material as you were forced to use here (also i'm sure the wood you used played a big part in that). good thing you did not go too much into the weighting part i can go ahead with my own tutorial and actually have something to add that has not all being said already. great tutorial again paul, i envy your cinematography skills as mine are virtually non existent :D
I normally use lead and in the prototypes i also used lead that is why i just drilled two holes, but i like to mess with alternatives and i had some pretty ugly pewter ornaments that looked like they would benefit from being melted down.
Wood wise i stuck with what is cheap and available reclaimed spruce I could of gone for a harder wood and reduced the weights needed to sink it.This is really the first true jerkbait i have made and to be honest i has been battered by pike but as yet they have not managed to get their teeth through the sides. It will be great to see your video Mikko, i think with these jerks baits for myself I have just stracthed the surface and the annoying thing with making videos is it would be a four hour special if i went down all the routes i wanted to explore. The filming thing is getting a bit out of hand, i find the only way to improve my camera work is to swear a lot off camera, i swore so much making this film the F******* paint on the wall changed colour. Thanks Mikko
spruce as a sappy wood is probably not the greatest kind of wood to use on fishing lures since in time it can start seeping sap and cause nasty things to happen to your lure down the line, that's why hardwoods are more preferable as lure making material, but if the spruce has been sitting in a dry place for a long time it should be fine to use it. There is so many little things that you could bring up on a tutorial like this and it would probably end up being at least 4-5 times longer that the one you did, so i can understand the frustration since most of my vids tend to be on the longer side. btw i hope your wife does not mind having the walls colored in piss and vinegar now after you're barrage of swear word while making this video :D
yep, i touched lucky with this bit it was pretty sap free, although i bought some for a job replacing some skirting in a house and when it turnd up some of the heart lentghs where more than a bit tacky. At the momment i have a scrap piano wich contains quite a bit of hardwood, some of it i think is no longer legal to sell. I think my wife knows to avoid me when i am getting near the end of a video. cheers
Rab Russell
it depend on how dry the wood is and what part of the wood that plank has been sawed off if its brittle or not. I assume you mean brittle in away when, when you start routering off some wood and rounding off the edges the wood might start to split easily?
@The Handmade Fisherman are you still at Harrison rods also we miss the content.
Good job
BARBARO ,,MUY BUENO
what if you dont have a disco ball motor. how do you keep the epoxy coat even?
Great video. I had a quick question for you. Where did you buy pewter
It s not all about the gear :p my first rod was a 8 ft 15-40g, medium fast action, from a sketchy chinesse manufacturer that i picked up at the marketplace :)) ( surprisingly, or not, the wraping on the guides is a much better quality than on my Daiwa rod :p) i paired that up with an 8€ reel that i got free of charge from a petrol station, as a bonus for filling their pockets for the past 7 years. And that worked. And it still does :p
Yep i know the fish personally and they do not care which brand my rod is
thanks for sharing
Great video. Subbed
Very interesting to see, that you do not twist the threaded shanks of the screw eyes straight into shank core diameter pilot holes inside of the timber blank but pre-drill holes at least to thread diameter to push in eye screws into epoxy filled holes , so that later the cured epoxy would make up for some kind of plug or dowel around the threaded shank of the eye screw .
Newer came across this method before(only when assembling twisted wire eyes) , ...do you think , it would be more reliable against pullout this way ?
Otherwise just another stunning two part video of yours , Paul , ...I always enjoy to look over your shoulder .
Greetz , Dieter
I used to have to fit a lot of large stainless eyes m16-m20 for mooring pins into timber and rock using epoxy resin, the advice they gave was to make a wider hole about 1-2mm and fill the hole a third before pushing the the eyes in. The eyes never twisted and never came out of either the wood or rock they only needed replacing when the eyes snapped off after a couple of years of boats tugging at them. What i found when screwed the eyes into wooden lures with epoxy was even after the epoxy had set it was relativly easy to unscrews them again, when i slightly enlarged the holes so i count push the eyes into the epoxy once set it really took a lot of effort to get them to turn them and in some cases with softer wood like pine it damaged the lure. Cheers Dieter

Some very interesting info , Paul , thanks for sharing , ....in fact I can imagine about the eyes could be untwisted relatively easy , though I haven't tried it before .
When I started out making wooden lures more than 20 years ago , I used to assemble the screweyes with just superglue , ...just effortless to untwist them , my epoxied eyes might come just a tad harder to twist out , I reckon .
I'm assembling my eyes in a way that I'd extend the first few millimetres of the core diameter pilot holes to about 3,0 to 3,5 mm dia. , so that some kind of "glue plug" evolves there when twisting them in with epoxy .
Nevertheless I've never had a screw eye fail , not with 1 meter+ pike attached nor with the lure ran into the worst snags , ...it would always be snaps , leaders or line to give up first , ....or straightened hooks as well .
But I might try your method on one of my lures as well , ....I have full confidence in both assemblies , though , ...but probably your method comes a bit more convinient to work down skipping all of the twisting ?
Thanks again , ....greetings , Dieter
quality stuff..
Such a beautiful action on the final lure, brilliant as usual. It's a real pleasure watching not only the making of the lure but there is so much that goes into the video!
