    The ranges are 2.5-2,9 billion years old. You can see how they have erroded with the weird shapes of them. It reminds me of Scotland, hence why so many Scottish names adorn the south West.

      Yes, they are really weathered! The winds and the rain they get up there must be immense!!

      Lucky you! Best of both worlds! We've seen some epic Timelapse's from up the top there. Like oceans of liquid clouds 🥹

    Great vision! Excellent stuff. Absolutely loved it.
    The rock climbing up the straight front faces isn't all that technically difficult for experienced climbers, but for beginners, NO! The feeling of exposure is.....special, after all, it is a 3,600 foot almost straight drop! Some weekends we would take paying clients and abseil them down that 1,000 ft (300m) straight rock face. Many became quite excited and...... emotional. They all survived.
    WA is special. You could start very early, play in snow on Bluff Knoll, look at the Southern Ocean from the top, fly 3,000km North with the Indian Ocean on your left, then dodge crocodiles in 38C (100F) tropical forests the same day, before having dinner overlooking the Pacific Ocean that evening, and still be in the same State! We sit here, see it all and you do the hard work for us!
    Love your work.

      Oh really?! Wow, that abseiling experience sounds amazing. I wish we had of met you earlier!! 🤩
      WA is one of the most beautiful and diverse places we have ever visited!

    Were you able to see the ocean on the west coast, such as past Margret river, or was that too far away to see? I haven't been to bluff knoll yet but I plan on going one day

    • @cjexplores
      @cjexplores  Před 2 lety +1

      We couldn’t see the western coastline, only the south 😊

      You get a better view of everything from half way up. Right at the top, everything is too tiny to see and you are looking through a lot of atmosphere. It is a pleasant walk. The vegetation is low, thick bushes, full of little twittery birds.

    What is the best month to walk up there?

    • @cjexplores
      @cjexplores  Před rokem +1

      Probably April. Seems to be the best time of year for visiting most of the country!
