Totally enjoying this Campervan build better than the tv any day of the week 👍🚍
It makes life a lot easier when you have the right tools 😊
Woo! Getting exciting now...I think staining the work surfaces was a good addition...sink next!!
A little tip I found really helpful when I rewired my boat, not only did I create a circuit diagram which is laminated and is attached to the back of the fuse panel door, I also labelled the end of the wires. Makes it a lot easier when you add electronics in the future.
Looking great Guys. Worktop definitely looks better now that it's stained. It's addictive when it comes to buying new power tools! 😂🤣
Great having a fridge/freezer....all set up for beer and fish finger sandwiches...🤗
Essential Friday night viewing here in chilly Hobart mate. Love the Punk IPA storage unit. 🍺🍺
Awwww....dad!!! 5 more minutes!!!😫😫😫😂😂😂
Terrific job so far and clear explanations. I got so caught up I was gutted when "that's a job for another day!" Noooooo!!!! Like waiting for next weeks episode as a kid!! Keep it up. Congrats to the artistic director on the wax works!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😂😂😂
You might want to think about getting a larger sink. Larger sink also useful to put things away safely very quickly if you need to move the van at short notice.
Anyway great job so far. Looking Brill.
Nice job, Mr M! Really neat work. Also loving the long hair😁
You Are quite the wood worker, Paul.
It's getting there Paul. Keep up the good work ☺️👍
It's really coming on and looking good Paul though gluing the worktop joint with wood glue might create a problem in the future. The end grain will move at a different rate to along the grain and will probably cause splits. I've fitted quite a few solid wood worktops and always use clear silicone for the joint, also the fixing screws need to be in slightly oversize holes to allow for movement. If it does split it wouldn't be a big job to change them. Sorry if i'm sounding negative, i'm really enjoying the build and looking forward to seeing the finished camper.
You made all that look easy, these videos are going to be so useful to those of us who want to do a van conversion in the future. Thanks Paul.
I agree, but then it seems Paul can turn his hand to anything. What becomes clear from this build is the need for careful planning and patience...both of which I lack.
Good job on the van better get it finished
looking good nearly there
Totally amazed how you have done all your conversion. You should be very proud of yourself I Bet Jo is
👌😄👍
Amazing work Paul! The van is looking great keep up the work
Definitely agree with Dawn worktops looks great 👍 That fridge looks awesome 👌
Worktop looks great with that stain, nice work! 👍
another great video there, cant beat it when you get to put the toys in
Paul, just watch out how much weight you are adding to the van. Take it to a weigh bridge when you are done with full fuel, kit and two adults just to be sure.
Making a great job of it mate, I'm somewhat jealous 😕
Hey Paul
Vans looking good .
Only one thing I just realized .
The more weight You put on the van , the more fuel consuption is needed to pull it all .instead of a full tank of petrol per week .
It will now be 1.5 tank per week .
DML
comming on now fella. looks top draw, great stuff
You'll get ya squats in having to get into that fridge. All the best 👍
Coming along nice , Mrs Messner did a good job designing the interior .
Grand job that Paul. The dogs bollocks.
I bought a skill saw when I built my shed, great bit of kit.
Coming along✌️
Yay! One step closer to a finish van, glad you found some time for Ronnie 😂
You make it look so easy!
Ohhh nearly there now x
Great job, lots of good tips, thanks again.
I say it every time it’s coming along 👌👍
You're bossing it dude, keep up the good work!
The fridge instal looked pretty easy, one thing missing in the fridge though....a nice IPA 😉 Van build is looking good. Nice work with the work tops.......Take care, Bluefin.
Fantastic craftsmanship!
Another fantastic informative video
Thank you 😊 you make it all look so simple and easy to follow 👌
Hey Paul you can Gently burn the top of your worktop then vanish it as it adds more depth to the wood and brings out the grain abit more :)) sorry it’s abit late only just catches up on last few eps :))
Very nice job Paul, thanks for sharing it 👍
Lookin’ good!!
Can`t wait for the next instalment, cheers Paul !
Nice one Paul Messner, I have been looking forward to this.
Looking beautiful already. "I didn't want to stain it but"... ::looks at the stain:: I measured, and it looks 112 times better. Gonna have to kidnap you to make me a build. :D
Great stuff Paul 👍🏻 The van is coming along nicely👌🏻
Another great video, look forward to the next one.
Great stuff, looking good.
at the end of each van update you need to show like an overall progress view for a couple of seconds please
Looking amazing sir.
Are you going out in it before completing the project? Once the sink is in, it looks like you could try it on the hills.
Cannot wait to see that vid, plus the rest.
Thank you.
I’d be still patting myself on the back. Job well done 👍. Cracking vids and very inspiring.
Wax on, Wax off, well done!
Absolutely great as usual...
I love all your videos and can't fault the build until now.
I can't help thinking you'll wish you went with a bigger sink.... It'll be almost be like washing up in a salad bowl, and for that reason it'll drive you nuts. Not necessarily worth the plumbing. That fridge will fill up far too quick too if I remember your yummy one day meals you take up the mountains with you. Time will tell, hope I'm wrong 👍☺️
Loving it
Its looking great, I love the worktops! I would struggle with a fridge that low down though :)
Coming on nice
Coming on Paul 👍
Very good Paul I do love your clear step-by-step training my friend.
Not a fan of the stain colour. I prefer the naked wood. My personal preference. Good tips! I’m going to have to find some of those little blocks you used to secure the countertop from underneath.
Great job Paul.
Always a proper quality video paul, good to see the van again! Keep it up mate. 👍🏼
GREAT JOB !!!!!!!
another great video
Looking good Paul!!!
Looking great Paul. Doing a fab job.. Hope your going to leave a bit of room to sleep in it and space fir cuppa Jo,, s tea bags.
Forget the conti blocks, drill and screw through underside of frame to secure worktop
your making a fantastic job of the conversion paul . now you have all the tools & the confidence have you thought about doing it as a sideline 👍
Loving it as usual Paul. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Best van conversation vid out there 👏
Good to see more videos on the van conversation mate 👍🏼
Loving those worktops. Was hoping you'd use proper wood!
You give me hope i may try doing my own van but I fear im pretty DIY inept
New subscriber by the way. I don’t know how I haven’t seen any of your videos before now.
10 of hearts...???? What have you been doing in that van when the camera's not been rolling...?😆
Rubber feet and side panels would help reduce shock absorption and sound transmission.
Another quality job Paul it’s really really coming on nicely now mate 🙌🚚🙌
Really enjoying following your project - it looks great. How's about some info on costs (or is that top secret)??
Oh, i look forward to watching this after my tea.I can't wait to see the finished product:-)
Good job! 👍😊
any links to that drill jig you used Paul . . . looks great buddy
This is the kit is used but a web search may find it a bit cheaper. amzn.to/2SdISM9
@@PaulMessner Cheers Paul, appreciated. Van Looks amazing.
Maybe a silly question, but why would you not fix the fridge on some support so that it is higher off the ground and easier to access...??
Be curious to know too as many people put them low to the ground but that seems a pain to get to having your head to the floor to see whats at the back on bottom shelf
We’ve not decided yet what kind of hob to get so not sure what’s needed and if we use the space for storage it’s easier to use the fridge at floor height than a cupboard I guess. It was also more work. We did consider it though 🙂
@@happycreativemind I see, makes sense. As long as you can fit GnTs in it...:) Thanks for replying. Good luck with the work, it looks great.
that fridge fits in so snuggly hehe
Safety glasses Paul! Great job as usual otherwise!
Btw you'll have more control if you don't use that long drill bit
Do you not think you're losing out on a bit of seating area by not doing the swivel chairs?
Another good video, Paul.
You make it look easy when it is far from it.
I think it would be interesting for your channel to know your background in-terms of any trained skills or if you’ve just done a lot of DIY / have an aptitude for this stuff?
Excellent thanks
Hi Paul, are you leaving that space above the fridge for ventiltion? they dont half give off some heat. End up running all the time and getting hotter and hotter.
the 420 at 3:33 though, haahaaaa!
Love all the advice in the comments 🙈
You’re totally bossing this build, great work. How many beers does that fridge hold. I’m concerned that its too small 😂
*HELLO, MR.MESSNER!!! WOULD YOU CONSIDER DOING A "THEMED" CAMPING TRIP FOR ME? I'VE ALWAYS ENJOYED THE OLD SHERLOCK HOLMES MOVIES WITH BASIL ROTHBONE, AND SINCE THE LOCATIONS YOU CAMP AT NORMALLY TEND TO RESEMBLE THE BACKGROUND SETTINGS FOR THOSE MOVIES, I THOUGHT IT WOULDN'T HURT IF YOU COULD RE-ENACT THE HOUNDS OF THE BASKERVILLES ONE NIGHT.*
hi mate ,,,love the camper build so far ,,,,what make is the pocket hole jig please ,,,,lots of rubbish and cheap jigs out there and not very many good reviews ,,,,...just about to start mine ,,,cant wait to see yours finnished !!!
Paul, what’s with the gazzillion conti blocks? Why not just screw up through your frame? I’d have also cut the hole for the sink before fitting. You might be ok for space but it’s definitely easier to cut on a workbench.
Loving it though so don’t think I’m being negative. Woodworking is a big hobby of mine. Hill walking not as much these days.
Paul quick question sine you a building a camper does this mean you are going to stop wild camping in a tent because those are my favorite videos.
Definitely not, it’ll mean more trips if anything 🙂
I’m selling up and buying a camper van to live in. Not sure if I’ve lost it or finally found it 🤷🏻♂️🤣
Looks great, but where is the food going to go in your beer fridge??? :) serious note....what are you planning to face your cabinets with and did you compensate for the fridge setback so the door will fully open?
don’t know if you put the sink in yet! but did you consider getting a deeper/larger sink? :)
Yep thats a small sink ..
czcams.com/video/Ma1Z8bbsRIE/video.html just came across this van conversion - a little inspo in case you want to change your mind! 😊😊
but i guess you will be using the van for long trips rather than to live in!? so different needs
also i realise that their van is quite massive😅
Hi Paul, I am enjoying your videos and the progress you are making. I am a recent viewer and have a question: What is the Van you are converting??? Thanks KiwiChris
Where did you get the pine board from and what dimensions? Looks great!
