As someone returning to UniVersus this is exactly what I was looking for. Keep up the damn good work.
This might be the nicest compliment someone has ever given me, and it certainly is about content. Thank you man.
This is exactly what I was hoping someone would make.
And this is just the first part ;)
This man is doing God's work! thank you for an updated how to play!
Thank you for the kind words!
You are amazing! i run a LGS and it took me several videos, a forums, the facebook group with more before i landed on clear communication for blocking here
I’m really glad this was able to help! I tend to be very intermittent (my real life is quite busy), but there will be more to this series soon to help new players!
Welcome to the game!
Very helpful thank you
You’re welcome, I’m glad it was helpful!
I’m a magic player myself and play Pokémon with my son, he picked up the my hero academia set with 2 decks trying to learn it to teach my son this is very helpful!
I’m so glad that this was able to help your family!
Excellent video. Is there a commonly used discord server or place to find players on TTS?
That's a good question! There's a community discord that people use often. It should be in my video description, but here's a link as well: discord.com/invite/universusccg
I love the video! This was extremely informative, well formatted, and definitely my go-to video to send to friends learning to play!
Quick question on the Block Phase: You fail a block @18:43, and a note pops up that "failing a block doesn't stop you from trying to block again".
I had always understood that if the Defender did not try to Block or failed the Check to play their Block, then the Attack is not blocked and the Defender does not get to try again. A Defender may only try to Block once per Attack, but they can still try to Block on other Attacks. Is this what you meant, or have I been playing wrong? 💀💀💀
Yeah I probably didn’t word that the best way. If you fail a block, you can’t try to block the same attack again. But you aren’t locked out of trying to block future attacks!
I’m really glad you found this as helpful as you did, and appreciate the kind words.
@@TheChamberMHAAmazing! Thank you for the clarification. I think you worded it fine, I just misunderstood. Thank you again for the content and I look forward to your future videos! 🫡
Thanks a lot for the video. Excited to try. Do committed cards ever untap and turn back vertical? Like how in Magic there is an untap step?
Yeah! It’s at 9:45, but short answer is yes. It’s called the Ready Step, and it’s identical to the Untap Step.

Great video. Just got into the game. Thanks.
A question i had (haven't actually looked at the rules yet) when watching was.... that action card with the response. Could you pass enhance, your opponent passes enhance. Then play the action responding to their pass? I'm assuming yes.
That’s correct! And because both players passed enhances you would go to block. It’s a sneaky way to push an attack just out of a blockable range.
Welcome to the game, and I’m glad you found it informative!
Where is part 2?
Coming ;)
