Dude, the scene with the kid in the arcade made me smile so much lol. That was awesome. Though this movie is terrible, there's just something about seeing Hulk Hogan interacting with the children.
And the fact the arcade machine gave a I surrender with the waving white flag is what sold the scene for me.

Yeah, Doug and a couple of his own fans went to a con and Christopher Lloyd was there and Doug and him had a good laugh about the line. Christopher Lloyd actually said humorously that "he actually was frozen that day he said that line" Then Doug asked him to say the line and he awkwardly agreed to do it.
@@arcspark4937 Yeah, you could tell his heart really wasn't in it. He said it like he was reading a text out loud. But it is still cool he said it at all. I can only imagine fans are pretty insufferable at meet and greets like this and they get tired of everyone asking for them to do or say things. So I don't really blame him.

James Earl Jones was his voice actor. The actual actor didn't have a very impressive voice.

To be fair, I think Hulk Hogan was fairly entertaining in the movies he did, but I felt that was a kid.
As for transition from wrestling to acting/movies; I think Dwayne Johnson has made that transition marvelously.

John Cena is getting there. He was great in Blockers. I enjoyed his chatacter in Bumblebee as well
The Rock is a great actor in a bunch of horrible horrible horrible movies.
The Rock's transition into movies wasn't exactly marvelous given that he had a bunch of flops in the mid to late 2000s. Of course Doom is the most infamous one.

Should film critics write movies? This is the question that has plagued mankind for centuries. On the one hand, it seems ideal. I mean, they already sort of know what makes a good movie, I mean they're film critics. They know what pleases the masses, they know what makes a movie look good... it's practically in their blood. On the other hand, To Boldly Flee.

I find it funny the Critic brings up how absurd it is for them to play After Burner as some random space game, seriously, they couldn't get Sega to palette swap 1 unit for the movie, but ignores the fact that many small children are in the middle of the night at this still open arcade as opposed to home for sleep.

My best friend actually used that "I was frozen today" line when he got into an argument with his mom, and--I kid you not--her reaction played out exactly the same way the Critic dramatized it.
I said "I was frozen today" and my mom heard me and said

I noticed when hogan found the sign for the apartment and the shot of him walkin he magically changed costumes.
I never watched it, but the commercial is forever seared into my brain. It was the first time I had ever seen an incredibly bad commercial work so incredibly well.

Fun fact: I never saw this movie but in middle/high school I watched a lot of NC and this one kid randomly shouted "Suburban Commando" during a game or something and I asked him about it. Turns out he once went to a laser tag place where you wear fake armor with codename tags and he got one that read "suburban commando". I was like "...wasn't that a movie Doug reviewed?" He had no idea what I was talking about

I was OBSESSED with this movie, when it came out. I watched the vhs EVERY DAY, when I was 10....

On the Bubba the Love Sponge show Terry "Hulk" Hogan was interviewed to say that him and Hollywood did not get a long and because of it Hollywood had no interest in promoting Hogan as a main stream actor.

When I was watching a short from Gabby Duran & The Unsittables, It showed Gabby holding a bag of oatmeal and the scene was frozen for 1 second. Then, when it happened, I was singing, "I was frozen today!" It was hilarious.

i should point out that the evil emperor's monster form was voiced by Frank Welker, who also played Malbogia in spawn the movie, and a few other times may have appeared on the NC reviews, and yes, its the voice of Dr Claw and Megatron
