    I have had an Elise since it first came out here in 2005. The US Exige (S220/240/260) are great cars, but that snorkel blocks rear view out the back. I guess you can get used to it, but it's always there. The Euro Exige is the real deal and a significantly faster car than the US version due to having the 3.5 Supercharged Toyota V6 (and no snorkel)...and over twice the HP as the US Elise and just a few hundred pounds more weight. Unfortunately, we will never get it here...or the 3-11 (at least the road version). We got the Evora and now the Emira. Nice cars, but not in the same league performance wise as the Exige 430 or 3-11. You have a good looking Elise. $25k is a steal.

      Agreed. Europe got all the cool Exiges! For me personally, the US Elise and Exige are just too similar for me to justify the price difference. If we got all of the versions here, there’s no doubt I’d go for a newer, more powerful Exige.
      Cheers!

      @@Time-Driven I think you are right on. I am not sure of the alure of the Base Exige in the US unless you are on the track...And if you are going to do track time all the time, just get a 2-11 or if you got big pockets a 3-11.

    After over 30 years of hard work, the best i can do is own a 2017 Nissan Leaf

      Nothing wrong with the Leaf!
      These are less expensive to own than people think. Relatively low running costs and they retain value really well.

    Very informative, Thx! I'm definitely team Lotus, but I went with the Evora. I had an NSX and wanted something of a similar size.

      Evoras are great too! The Evora is definitely more comfortable and more usable. They feel a bit less cobbled together and more substantial. The NSX is cool too!
      Enjoy your Evora!

    Elise is more for sweeter road use , Exige is more hard edge and a proper track tool.

    For me open motoring is key and although you can take the roof off either, ultimately I’d keep the Elise, it’s supercharged & 99% Exige anyway. You’re basically spending £20K for stylistic ‘upgrades’ that weigh more KG.

      Hello! Here’s a link to the Exige tail lights. Looks like they’re out of stock right now, but keep an eye out for when they restock them.
      Side note- Greg’s Race Parts is great! Highly recommend them.

    Interesting, did your Elise come with the supercharger from factory?

    • @Time-Driven
      @Time-Driven Před 6 měsíci

      It didn’t. In 2005 they only came NA, but they added supercharged options in 2008. You were able to go have the katana superchargers that came in the later SCs added to the earlier models. 😎

    Which would you keep between your spyder and Elise? 🙏

    • @Time-Driven
      @Time-Driven Před 3 měsíci

      This is a great question!
      I really love both. The Lotus is more compromised, raw, and exciting. The Spyder is more refined, well-built, and easier to live with. The Elise is special because it was my first special sports car, but the Spyder is admittedly my favorite driving car I’ve ever owned. If I could only keep one, I’d probably go with the Spyder, but they’re both outstanding cars and will be keepers!
      Thanks for the question. Cheers!

    whats the price difference between them?

    • @Time-Driven
      @Time-Driven Před 3 měsíci

      Depends on condition, spec, etc. Exiges especially can be all over the place regarding price. Generally speaking, the Exige goes for about twice the price of the Elise. Elises typically sell between $35-50K and Exiges from maybe $60-85K, but again those are pretty loose figures.

    * Elise for the road - ideally S1, or 220+
    * Exige 350+ for the track.
