One of the most underrated artists of all time. Tracy Chapman. 🙏🏼
To me, TC's biggest weapon is her ability is to be herself. Just her, being herself on stage. Just amazing and RARE.
Cent % agree with u... she is reserved, lovely, beau, pure soul... love her...
She's been one of my all time favorite solo artists since the 80's..I have every song she ever recorded. When I listen to her voice it just takes me to another place.
Her songs, "Talkin' about a Revolution" and "Fast Car" are also very good.
We don't get to hear many altos on mainstream music. That is one of the reasons I love her.
It only looks easy because she has years of experience performing in this video. You can hear the audience singing along, so you know the song she is singing is a well-known crowd pleaser. I recommend watching the live performance of fast car at Wembley 1988. That is where she made her biggest debut and you can see her overcome stage nerves mid-song. Such a powerful moment! Tracy Chapman is always such an enriching experience.
Tracy is awesome.
I love her. George Michael did a cover of this song, which was tremendous too. George said Tracy was one of his favs.
Love that!
I didn’t know he did this song. I’ll have to look for it on CZcams. This is one of my favorites of hers.
I saw TC back in the early 2000's. I was already a young fan, but tickets won on a radio contest landed me at a show during this tour, I believe at the schnitzer in Portland. anyway... her stage presence is atomic!
Wow! This song brings so many happy and sad memories of my youth! Still have the CD after so many years 👍
Such a simple performance, but sooo good.
I'm guessing you heard "Gimme One Reason" in your car, but I'm glad you had the chance to discover this one as well!
Yes! How did you guess? I’m impressed haha After this video I went through her music and finally Found it. Such a great song also 😊🙌🏻
I just watched a video of Chapman playing in Wembley and I also noticed that same thing about her eyes with the audience
You should Hear "Let It Rain". Amazing song, I saw her perform live in a outdoor stadium in a rain storm near Detroit after the Let it Rain album came out. Best concert ever.
She is the GOAT for me. I figured it was either Fast Car or Give me one Reason you heard in the car. Glad to see it was, but please know some of her best are the less known ones. Check out the live one with Andrea Bocelli. Great reaction and comments!
I completely agree with you about TRACY, her eyes telling all the story .. Also I loved your face expressions while listening to this wonderful song.. Peace and love..
Liked and subbed.

I heard this on the radio and fell in love
I love Tracy Chapman! Listen to Fast Car and gimme one reason. Those are great too and some of the first songs she came out with in the late 80's and 90's.
As you said her voice is so warm, and tender. "First Try" wasn't a hit, but it's one of the most beautiful song I've heard in my life.
I love that song too with all my heart
You found my fav. Love ❤️ this song
Really nice playing the guitar 🎸
I've heard that she is actually quite shy and introverted so performing doesn't come easily for her.
Your observations are spot on, Chapman's talent, honesty and comfort are marvelous. Other distinctive voices and songwriters I think you will enjoy are The Carpenters, Todd Rundgren, Carole King, Dionne Warwick and 10CC.
Thanks so much for the recommendations and for watching 😊😊
As an artist who thinks about song structure and lyrical poetry, I think another underappreciated artist you will really like is Jim Croce. He died tragically in a plane crash at age 30, and left a small but rich collection of recordings. Try "Time in a Bottle" or "Operator".
@@JazzyHorn +1 for "Operator" its a wonderful song
Hello! Maybe you could heard the all album "Cross roads" by Tracy! By the way, i love your eyes! With my respect ok!
You should hear her live performance of her song "New Beginning" where she plays a digeridoo.
Cool reaction! I'm performing this today. Some of what you said will definitely help me ;)
Oh that's so exciting! I hope it went well for you :)
But then your place is so clean, I envy.
Do you Joan Armatrading?
Or even could react ti Dimash Kudaybegen! S.O.S, or Sinful Pasion. Thanks!
