On October 3, 2018, police responded to the residence of Lynn Hernan for reports of a possible drug overdose. When authorities arrived, it looked obvious that Lynn may have taken her own life. However, her toxicology screen told a completely different story. She was killed using Visine eye drops. Her caretaker, Jessy Kurczewski, says that she must have used too many eye drops and caused her death. But police had a different explanation.
What are your thoughts on this case? Let's discuss in the comments.
Thank you guys for watching, hope to see you next time!

This happened with my grandma. They didn't kill her but they came in when she got sick. "family" we had never really met. I was 18 taking care of her. They told everyone I stole and wasnt taking care of her. When she passed no one told me....they threw away everything or sold it we don't know. My heart still aches 😔 I should not have left her

I'm so sorry. This happens all the time. You were young and care taking is a lot for anyone, a teenager shouldn't be responsible for an aging adult. At least not the primary. Please don't feel guilty for not being there. They pushed you out. I have no doubt she knows who loved her & who was using her. I just wish it was easier to prove it and charge people for abuse and fraud when they swoop in like this to scam & use an elder.
She should have been respected and loved. I really have no doubt she knew how you felt & would want you to let go of any guilt.

I am literally so sad that this happened to you. I know exactly how this feels this just happened with my grandmother about 2 years ago and I am so so heartbroken to this day. And it's the fact that they got rid of every single thing that would have meant so much to me and my children. But as with you nobody told me when she passed away and I'm so heartbroken to know that she went alone after everything she had done for everyone...😢 but everything that was written in the comment below I definitely agree with so just try to keep your head up and all of those things in your mind. I am positive that is what your grandmother would have wanted! ❤ hugs😊

This is terribly upsetting. I actually was a caretaker for 3 elderly ladies that I took care of for a long time. This disgusts me, to take advantage of a vulnerable little old lady. I began cleaning houses for them, which turned into me doing things just like this. Elderly people should perhaps be assigned an attorney Adli tum, or someone to look over their accounts. It just seems like there should be some system in place to keep an eye on things. Maybe the bank. If a little lady who has spent a certain amount every year, then suddenly runs up accounts on credit cards; the police should be notified. IDK?
I never thought about just how easy it would be for anyone to have access to a person so vulnerable. I guess it's human nature to think of other people as good, because that just the way good people think. But I know how trusting my friends were. By the time you care for someone so many years, you're more than employer employee, I genuinely cared deeply for all of them.
Now, just let me play the devil's advocate for a moment.
This is a lady I worked for many years cleaning her house. She probably was about 60-65 when I began working for her. A likeable lady who did charitable work off and on, still drove and was active, but there were hardcore prescription drugs everywhere. I would find them all over the floor, at least 20 sometimes more, pills that she dropped, so I would try to sort them and put them back in the bottles for her. I began to realize she had a drug problem. She still functioned, and paid me well, and I was very discreet. Then she began to drink heavily. She moved and didn't call me for a year or so. She calls me to her new apartment, and she was totally out of control. Drugs like amphetamines and tranquilizers everywhere, prescribed. Once every two weeks I would carry a large green trash bag full of half gallon whiskey bottles every time, sometimes 2. It sounds impossible, but I promise you it's true. This went on over the course of 5 or 6 years, and at this point she is basically bed ridden. She can still drive to get whiskey though and her medicine. One week, I go clean, and I see she has been prescribed a drug called Antabuse, and I realized she had been through rehab. So, I asked her about it. She told me her son made her go, and I was so happy.
But next time I came back, she was back at it. At this point the work was getting nasty, she was throwing up everywhere, she had a poor little dog that she didn't take care of that pooped everywhere. But mostly she was scaring me to death.I couldnt stop thinking about her. I knew one week I would show up, and she would be dead. It was killing me, I dreaded going. I loved this lady at this point, and I wanted to help her so bad. I lectured her, wheedled her, begged her to no avail. So, I looked up her son, I knew he worked at the post office. I go there ask for him and tell him what's going on. He says "Yeah, we know. We put her in rehab several times, but she just won't stop" So I leave. I went back the next week and I tell her that I can't come back, unless she goes back into rehab, I beg her to go. I just couldn't watch her kill herself. Thats what I told her. I guess I was hoping it might work. Foolish me. I know she probably died alone and drunk, and I feel guilty for that. I was young and had family, I could only handle so much.
Now, if I had been her caretaker, not just a house cleaner, hell even as a house cleaner, I could have totally taken advantage, written huge checks, stolen her credit cards, who knows? Right? On the other hand, here is a lady so sadly addicted to alcohol and drugs, that does such crazy things, spilling pills everywhere. No one would believe such an outlandish tale. It boggles the mind. How a little old lady can consume so much alcohol and so many drugs, that she spills bottles of the stuff. I wouldn't be surprised what she did, because it beggared belief. Truly you would have to see it to believe it. Thank heavens she was the exception, and I cared for several more ladies. I loved doing it. But I am just saying, there are desperate people out there that do crazy things
To be clear, this is one despicable human being. She profited off of a sick little old lady. Truly vile and sickening. Shes dangerous they should lock her up for life. She gives us all a bad name. All the good people that truly do care, will be looked at with such mistrust.
We need someone to watch over our little old ladies and gentlemen. That will be us someday. And you can learn so much. They have lived full lives and are dying for someone to talk to. And what a privilege it is to share such intimate moments with someone on a personal level. It has enriched my life. I never gained financially except the hourly wage I charged. Never more than I thought they could pay. But someone needs to be over seeing their care and their finances. To prevent such tragedies. They are truly the most vulnerable, along with children and disabled. We need to have protections of some sort in place! This case really makes me wake up and realize something needs to be done. It looks like it could potentially be a huge problem and they are the perfect murder victims.
I give the police credit on this case; she could so easily slip through the cracks. It's probably happening to someone somewhere right now.

As sad as it is, but I strongly believe that what really happened is that Jessy took Lynn's (or Lyn) life.
Jessy sounds like not only someone with some serious gambling and greed issues, but also from what we know, she sounds like a narcissist with a savior complex.
Every time she described her relationship with Lynn, she painted herself as a selfless guardian angel when her actions are far far from that.
And it's a stark contrast, for the most part at least, from how others who actually cared about Lyn described her as.
Based on Jessy's criminal history, pattern of behavior, and how she changed her story several times whenever more evidence was brought up, I def believe she did this to Lynn for money.
She's selfish and is not very good at hiding it.
Also, on a lighter note, I loved the way you advertised the glasses.
You could be an ice saleswoman to polar bears imo.

Jessy is most certainly a thief but that doesn't make her a killer. Of course, she could have manipulated Lynn into committing suicide.

She is a killer though, because people don’t end their own lives with eye drops. It’s obvious Jesse staged a lot of it to make it look like a suicide when it clearly wasn’t. It’s crazy what people would do to steal from someone vulnerable.

The “cousins & Friends” That came foward imo only came forward due to the money that Lin had. So if I was an investigator I wouldn’t rely too much on those “all of a sudden concerned family members/friends “I watched the trial and a lot of these people wouldn’t even check on Lyn . Exactly why Lyn was so close to Jessy

My aunt was very cunning like Jessi. When her brother finally received verification that he’d receive around $1M in benefits from Black Lung (coal mining) she started taking him to doctors appts, and just always kinda being present although He had a wife and 3 grown kids. When he passed, she forged a will and had a notary public witness it, along with one of her daughters. Everything was “left to her” including his house and land. But get this, the house and land only needed $3,000 to be paid off, in full. It was written that once it was paid off it went to her, so his wife paid the remainder then had to move out! She was a very deceptive, evil person. She died of Covid less than 2 yrs after he did so she didn’t benefit from her evil ways but her family are. Her husband and 5 daughters have benefited from it.

Sometimes (more often than one would think), family members will steal the money. They will live with the person, take the money, then drop the elderly person at the hospital and leave them there. The hospital can't discharge unless family can care for the person and if they don't answer the phone, then the hospital is plain screwed.

Then why did Jessy’s mother (Jennifer), introduced her thief, criminal daughter to help Lynn, a vulnerable woman ?!😢, Yet she knew Lyn was an older vulnerable lady ? It came out that Jennifer was the one friends with Llynn, and that’s how Jessy started going to her !
