  • This video is about the process , how to change rear shocks on a car (rear) vw , as car shock absorber start to get old and wear down they tend to get loose and sometimes start to make noise as well
    performed on volkswagen polo but the process remains same for almost every vehicle out there , and is identical for volkswagen vento , jetta , golf , skoda fabia , skoda rapid , and variout other models of skoda , vw and audi .

Thanks for sharing them...just recently got it changed for both front n rear ,front i got a TRW (Gas)n rear was gabriel (gas)which is company stock on my Vento (2011)n now my front left door lock is spoiled but not finding one even in company any recommendations. thanks 😊

    Thank you for the all the diy videos. I have one question about struts and shocks replacement. I wanted to replace them with stiffer type so on highways there’s not much of undulations due to uneven gaps. People have put blisten b6 previously but now the price for them has gone above 1lakh+, so was wondering if you could recommend anything in lower budget which is better than oem for higher highway speed?

      Sir SACHS is one of those brands which you can look for .
      Have good dampening and a shorter rebound

      @@yourDIYneeds thank you. I have checked locally, Sachs is not readily available but MONROE and TRD are being recommended. They say it’s also same as Sachs, euro spec struts and shocks. I will be very thankful if you can give an opinion on these brands.

    Sir Mera polo 1.5 tdi hai, recently alignment and balancing karwaya hai, 45 to 55 speed mai steering wobble ho raha hai, showroom me bola to unhone tire change karne keliye bol rahe hai, par sirf 38k running hua hai pehle to wobble nahi ta alignment and balancing hone ke baad hi aisa shaking wobbleing ho raha hai pls solution batavo

      Sir balancing thek nahi hui hai agar alignment ke baad dikkat aai hai to .
      Baki agar tire me flat spot aa chuka hai to sir fir to tyre hi change hoga

      Steering rack problem , i was facing the same issue with polo my steering was acting bad and making rattling noise while turning and vibrating on rough roads , so i took my car to vw got changed it in 18k including labour charges , but since then I’m facing no more problems and steering feels lighter and more responsive too now.

    Sir jee, please let me know if there is any way to identify if the rear shock mount is worn out? Is there any specific period after which it is required to be changed.

      Sir rear shock mounts dont go bad they are metal to metal contacts , no rubber in between
      If you start to feel that your car started to wobble on high speed even on minor imperfections of road or uneven surfaces then you need new shocks

      No not hissing sounds it's like popping noise where it feels like some metal is hitting rubber.

    Any option to increase stiffness of spring and damper in rear, when 5 people travel it compresses way to much and mudflaps touch speedbreaker

      Sir , for that you can go for coilpad buffers which are a little taller than normal , but it will not increase stiffness , it will just lift the vehicle a little bit more , if stiffness is what you want then the only option is to go for a coilover set , but they will be costly

    hi, just got the buffer + dust cover changed on sunday. thanks to your video.
    however there is a continous squeeking noise coming from the rear shocks now everytime i go over unever roads.
    is this normal and will it stop once the new buffer sets in? or is there something wrong?
    i used a kit from Technix.

      Sir seems like one out of two shock shave a bearing that is running dry than other , try loosing the the a little and then drive , it noise goes away then the shock bearing needs a little bit of new grease

    And Sir after changing the Tata Safari sedimenter, few days back,I drove arround 100kms,and before I used to notice very minor jerks while acceleration and between gear shifts.Now after putting a new Sedimenter,it's completely vanished.Infact my neutral rpm on idkeused to be arround 1100..but now it's exactly at 1000 after changing the sedimenter.Lots of crud in the sedimenter and 12 yr old Sedimenter water sensor may have been the culprit.Lol

      @@yourDIYneeds No Sir,the car started normally even before.The water in Sedimenter light dint come one.When I disconnected the sensor wire,it lit up and rpm increasd to 1300 at idle..after reconnection,it was back to 1100rpm and once I changed the sedimenter with sensor R5864360(TVS Delphi CR Sedimenter for rs 2850) the rpm was 1000 constantly minus the jerks.

    I was planning to change the rear strut aswell, however i was planning for gabriell, which is oil filled. What changes it may make to the ride according to you?

      The ride will be a bit more stable on the rear end especially on high speeds , can experience a bit of harshness on low speeds

      Sir , if everything is set properly like toe , camber and thrust angle . You won't be able to tell if anything is different

      @@yourDIYneeds kind of banging sound. Driving over 50kms on a low to high ground. This sound is heard once the rear tyres are release after taking shock

    Sir what are the symptoms of bad clutch plate in Tata Safari..It's confusing coz,Safari has a bit of turbo lag and only when the car reaches 45-50+ you can feel the power kick in.is there any methods to find out if clutch plates are worn out??My car even starts moving at 2nd gear when I give a little more acceleration while releasing the clutch slowly.Sadly,even when the car was brand new,it could be starred at 2nd gear

      All the diesels are capable of getting go in 2nd gear if you perform the clutch modulation properly , but it will effect the clutch plate seriously , as the clutch starts to slip first , and takes a lot of time to engage . It can warp the clutch and you will eventually start to feel alot more vibration from the clutch pedal .
      Symptoms of bad clutch .
      Lack of acceleration, you will witness the rpm rising but won't feel the kick , shudders at the get go in 1st gear , lack of grunt.

    hello sir , what is our springs color codes?, my vento looks like has similar rear colour code to your car (orange, yellow, blue blue, blue) and believe is primary reaon for more compression under load. any 2014-15 vento owners can share their spring color code

      Sir yes , spring code for both are same but the strut are different , vento's strut is about 1 inch longer than polo , maybe they have kept it this way to make sure that rear occupants can have a more comfortable experience

    Bro , I took my polo GT to the service centre to get the steering checked as it's titled towards left , got the wheel alignment done , even after that it was tilting towards left, took it to a vw showroom the guy says the vehicle should not have 205/65 tyres in the first place and it should be stock 185/65 and there's nothin we can do about the steering and we need to change tyres first , I don really understand , so before I take to another service centre I was wondering if you can shed some light on the issue so I would have some knowledge before the service centre guys rip me off

      Sir it doesn't really matter you have 185,195or 205,. I am also running 195s and no alignment issues .
      Firstly tell me what is the reading on odometer ?
      Take your car to and outside alignment shop (which is reputed) and hand your car to them and tell them to check the ( toe , castor and camber ) all three thing . They will give you the real report .
      When ASC is not able to understand the problem then they start to nitpick the problems in your car .
      Its their way .

      Sir that totally depends upon the driving conditions , if the roads are rough then close to 40-50k kms if they are butter smooth then 100-120k kms
