He was ethnically Romanian, as it is well attested, with us even knowing of his Romanian ancestors, such as Costea and so on. He was granted Covinus Castle, which his son would rebuild. Decently well known stuff. This doesn't mean he isn't a Hungarian hero, but he is a Romanian figure also. This is called shared cultural and historic heritage.
