  • Driving to Costa de Hamilo passing Mount Palay Palay from Ternate to Nasugbu Batangas. The view of the cove and sea was beautiful! And we will be seeing the Kaybiang Tunnel, currently as of this documentation's longest tunnel in the Philippines... was it not Edsa which is longer? Enjoy watching!
    6:29 - Kaybiang Tunnel
    7:57 - cove view
    12:30 - Costa del Hamilo / Pico De Loro
    Road Condition - Good paved roads
    Drive thrill - Relaxing trail, enjoy the views
    Security - Safe at morning I don't know about evening
    Rating: 5/5 :-|
    Its uncomfortable driving when some senior citizen beside you is doing some homily ....

    First time ko dumaan jan kahapon. Ang ganda ng view. Sayang nasa other side ako ng bus. D ako nakapag pic ng view. Dont know kung meron mga regular buses na dumadaan jan. Parang ang sarap tumambay sa may marina banda.

    Thank you for posting this video, we were at first too scared to take a route through the mountains, but it looks like it’s actually a very beautiful route!

    Drove this road a few days ago. Unfortunately it was around 12 midnight so I was not able to enjoy the scenery. I did get a different thrill though since I foolishly refused to refuel my car along Governor's Drive thinking I could do that when I get to Batangas. By the time I got to the area shown at 4:29 my fuel gauge was two lines before it hit empty. To add insult to injury, I even made a mistake when I went straight ahead to Caylabne instead of turning left in the area shown at 4:54, so upon seeing a closed gate I had to turn around.
    When I got to Nasugbu there were no 24-hour gas stations. Good thing there was a vendor of bottled gasoline along J.P. Laurel Highway and had to settle for those until I got back to Tagaytay to refuel.
    It was an unforgettable experience. Driving an empty road in the dark not knowing if your car can go for long. Crazy AF.

    it irritates me when i see houses being build so close to the road. it makes the road widening or road improvement in the future difficult

    The tunnel is in the Philippine Marine Naval Reservation a military training base, part of the Palaypalay National park at the part where the beach is nearest to the road, after that its private property (sourced from LGU Brgy Chairman owned by the Viratas) and the part where asphalt road become concrete the bridge before is Bat/Cav boundary. From the said bridge to Hamilo is a Hacienda property of the Sy's of SMDC, in short private property lahat. Thanks for the video!

      @dmitrivalencia  Před 9 lety

      hello Ian, thank you for the detailed information! So this cove was SM's private playground hehehe synonymous to hacienda Calatagan of the Zobel's?

    • @ianendangan7462
      @ianendangan7462 Před 9 lety +1

      dmitrivalencia
      The info was provided by the Brgy. Chairman of Looc(Nasugbu, Batangas) and Sta Mercedes/Patungan (Maragondon, Cavite). Many coves in Nasugbu were managed by private resorts such as Club Punta Fuego. I am not sure if it is a one Hacienda Title which covers Brgy Papaya and Looc but I saw myself SM blue guards do motorcycle patrol in Looc and talked to a blue guard who was assigned at a inaccessible cove (by road). The SM blue guards firing range is at the left on 10:49. The Hacienda Title used to be a Sugar Cane Plantation which was abandoned probably formerly owned by the Old Spanish Oligarch. Hehe I can't comment on the Zobel's Hacienda in Calatagan but I saw that huge hacienda on my way to the town proper. Have a Safe drive!

    great video.

    • @dmitrivalencia
      @dmitrivalencia  Před 9 lety +1

      Medyo mas mahirap yun sa kenon kasi mas makitid ang daan at medyo alanganin ang inclination at curves, saka madaming nasa unahan kaya baka matempt mag overtake, yun dito sa nasugbu suwabe pagka curve. Safe journey po!

    Sir let's say galing kaming Carmona going to Calatagan, what route do u suggest? Governor's Drive all the way to Trece>Naic>Ternate-Nasugbu Road>Calatagan Road... or, The Aguinaldo Hiway>Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road>Calatagan Road? What is the best if traffic is a consideration, and the shortest time to travel?
