Honestly Spiderman's true adversary would be the high corrupt mortage rates for apartments in Gotham City. Given Peter is NOT rich, and has infamous bad luck in both of his personal & superhero lives, he would not even survive the week. Spiderman doesn’t have the time to deal with Gotham. People love and hate Batman because he’s “OP”, has all the plans, and all the resources. People forget that he’s gonna have to learn toxicology, criminology, psychology, riddler solving, and so on.
Gotham is also corrupt from the top down. So what if he can win a fist fight with Penguin? He’s gonna be out in hours, and unlike with The Kingpin, it’s gonna the only thing he can think about the first time Pete calls him short. Batman villains will scheme on you for months. Bruce can get into a CEOs office by asking nicely. How’s SM gonna deal with the Court of Owls or the League of Assassins and having a day job?

You wanna know what I think of Batman vs Spider-Man’s rogues gallery? With his money, training and mindset? I think he’d do far more damage to crime in marvel than he ever could in DC. Why do I think this? Simple. Marvel’s materials and parasites. Adamantium, vibranium, mysterium, gamma radiation, symbiotes, stark tech etc. Batman in marvel would more than likely use his Wayne tech resources to create more suits and gadgets with way more materials to make them even stronger than what he could in DC. Spidey’s villains do they’re own prep time for sure, but Batman on that same playing field makes things more interesting and more challenging for the bad guys.

Spider man would dominate Gotham. The only problem would be the psychological warfare. But I don’t think it would even get to that point
1. Spider man is a lot more lax on the no killing if he’s pushed far enough
2. Spider man’s trash talk would be VERY effective against most of Batman’s rouges as they are already unstable.
3. Mysterios illusions SHIT all over fear toxin in terms of potency. Plus Spider-Man’s mask might filter out the gas.
4. Batman’s rogues get over on him because despite all his BS he’s still human. Spider-Man is well beyond superhuman in every physical category. So much to the point where they wouldn’t be able to handle someone with that much power. It would be a shell shock, to be used to Batman and all of a sudden you get a guy that’s drastically, faster, stronger, more durable and lightweight pre cog with the spider sense.
He’s clearing the entire roster in 1 night. Low diff.

I don’t think people realize the mental strain the city of Gotham presents. What makes Batman so formidable and perfect for the city is his incorruptible nature regarding his villains. Yeah many of Batman’s villains are not as physically capable, but mentally, they are truly only something the dark knight could handle. Unfortunately, Spiderman would fold. Especially against someone like Joker.

It’s been proven in several comics how he has a high resistance to poisons and venoms. Honestly freeze would be a formidable opponent. But all forms of physical combat would be outdone by the Spider-Man martial art form the way of the spider.

@@DocGoon not trying to say he’s immune to all, however in many comics he has resisted many, also poisons and venoms even when they do affect him to tend, most of the time that being said, they don’t keep in his system as long and don’t go to as far effects as it does other supers or humans.
Remember that it’s not just about wining fights. What’s he going to do to help people that get poisoned? Is he going to synthesize a cure for a city in his loft?
People don't scale Batman properly, or take into account he's been thrown in alternative universes. You should take that into consideration with this character, people! How Batman would actually act.

Might be a bit of an ask, but can we get a video showing Spider-Man’s best feats? While this vid was very informative on the batman/Gotham side I feel as though Spider-Man’s limits not being shone to compare to Gotham (both old school versions of the comics had some wild shit in them) makes it hard to judge fully as the watcher only has half of the equation
Side note: Ah yes Batman a COMPLETELY NORMAL Human. One criticism I have for bat man comics is that they seem to flip between Batman being a (somewhat) realistic peek human and an unbeatable god which concepts fear. But I suppose a lot of time and different authors could do that.

After Gotham he would either stay bloodlusted, give up SpiderMan or die since he's younger and has never trained his mind like Batman. I think Gotham is too much simply because of how horrific it is, has nothing to do with how op it is.

There is a pretty big problem in this video and that is the fact these are all old feats from a different universe and we all know dc has reset their universe multiple times so these old feats can’t even be applied to todays main universe which I think is rebirth on top of that Peter would be fine in most of these in-counters he has done crazy shit before and has been through way worse.

Using Batman from wayyy back and when he fights universal plus brings, is kinda weird, mainly because we’re talking about his and SM’s specific rogue’s galleries. We’ve seen both rogue’s galleries take down their respective hero. To me at least, you should only stick to those feats, especially since nobody thinks Bane can take down Superman, yet we’ve seen Bane literally break the bat. Even with Spider-Man, him tagging Thor and Silver Surfer is a crazy outlier, as he would just blitz the Sinister Six anytime they pulled up, as their fastest member would be Electro. Batman would for sure finds ways around them, but it would be tougher for him than it would for SM. SM would have trouble with the Court of Owls and Ra’s for sure, due to their numbers. However, his superior speed, strength, precognition, and stamina would lead him to victory. It also helps that Peter is literally a genius, especially when it comes to tech. It would for sure be difficult for him to be a detective on par with Bats, but the dynamic is completely different with him and Bats. Joker would HATE Spider-Man for cracking jokes and dropping his ass, and many foes that don’t have superhuman capabilities, are likely to be outpaced. Also, are we giving him Parker Industries? If you do something like that, then that would be the equalizer to Batman’s money. Batman without his money and living in New York like Peter would have a ROUGH time out there. High ass living wages and having to deal with the Sinister Six, while going to a 9-5.

@@henrysullivan6341 there’s literally a running joke that the Avengers don’t help Spiderman. While both characters have their own Super family” Batman’s helps him out much more often than Spiderman. That’s not to discredit Batman, I’m just saying that his sidekicks and Batman-family members are more intertwined into his stories than Peter’s usually are. The Robin lineage for example, as opposed to Spiderman having Miles Morales. There are times where Peter fights alongside Daredevil and Luke Cage, but Batman gets help more often than people like to think

Batman receives help, sure, but it is usually for some team up reason that the writers think will be cool. Like Bane and Batman in Gotham Knights, they team up while they wait on a blood test I think the bat computer could do in like minutes if not seconds. Didn't really lead anywhere story wise.
But the point on patrol hours is Peter will have a hard time putting in all the work while trying to maintain a normal life, where Bruce is just a mask that the Bat uses.

Not taking anything away from Batman's feats at all but I genuinely think Spider-Man would have handled most of these situations in a similar but brand specific manner, if that makes sense. Realistically I'd say Spider-Man can handle Gotham but his character will take a ton of damage towards the end. Ultimately he might end up darker or more serious.

In a one on one with no prep time - IOW just meeting and going Mano Y Mano, Spiderman would give Bat Man headaches, but not necessarily S bringing B down.. That's if it's on the **ground** - As soon as the fight goes in the air - Who can swing off and around tall skyscrapers the best and has the acrobatic ability to live in that world, the contest shifts to Spiderman with the W, low to mid diff. Plus Bat Man has no answer for Webbing.
A second meeting would give Bat Man an edge, but Spiderman would have prep as well.
Third meeting - Might be up in the air, but I'm still giving the W to the Webhead.
I can't take seriously all these bizarre instances where Batman suddenly pulls off something better than Supes [for example.] Marvel at one point tried to make their stores more realistic, give the characters real life problems etc. whereas DC has always been about being a Comic Book Company in the classic sense. Really, who do you think would hold up in a 1 on 1 between Bat Man & Superman? A guy who could literally shoot heat vision [basically stored solar energy.] at Bats from space and the latter would be none the wiser? Remember Superman is almost always holding back. This thing of Bat Mite coming to his rescue - Deus Ex Machina, much? Let him deal without his secret "god" to bail him out all the time 😜 Deus Ex Machina events are the very definition of bad writing, end of.

@@DocGoon Correct me if I'm wrong but it's a bunch of Silver age and above physical feats for Batman to what prove he's physically on par or superior to Spider-Man? I think a better argument would be how his villains are more tactical and ruthless and the different skill sets and powers they have would make it tough instead of oh Batman > Spider-Man because older less consistent feats to suggest he's more powerful.

The only thing that Batman is better at is intelligence, skill and resources. He does have better mental durability but Spider-Man in terms of basic Gotham villains is just to solo them. In a pure fight it's not a contest. I don't think that Arkham Batman or SSKJL would survive in Spider-Man 2 ps4.

@DocGoon providing panel is proof but not context dc continuity has been rebooted multiple times so i think giving a bunch of silver age feats does eliminate said context of canon, unless were using comp versions then i think spideys got that too

Spider-Man might beat Gotham’s villains when it comes to scaling sure but narrative speaking, Batman’s villains are too unpredictable and more dangerous to do mental damage for Spidey to handle. Spider-Man just simply doesn’t have the darkness or willpower that Batman has.
