- The VHS release that coincided with the release of Steve Hackett's 'The Tokyo Tapes' CD. Live footage of said album. There is this quote from somewhere in the 1990's decade that (paraphrasing) Steve Hackett is singlehandedly bringing Prog Music into the 21st Century. Tho this was recorded in the mid '90's, this concert is most certainly a riveting, unforgetable Show for 'any' decade, or century for that matter. Top-tier talent that uncompromisingly delivers.

Mr. Hackett iş one of the best guitarists in the world. OF COURSE!
Genesis was never the same without the truly fantastic guitarist that is Steve Hackett!
There isn't anybody near Steve Hackett. What a guitarist
Los Endos : flûtiste tout simplement ÉNORME !!! Fantastic flautist!!!
I saw Steve Hackett around 10 years ago when he was doing a totally acoustic show. I even got my picture with him. He was easily one of the most down-to-earth, unpretentious guys I've ever met. And humble, too. The truly great artists don't have to rely on flash or "atmosphere." I was truly impressed, inspired, and challenged to revisit my own music-craft with a more simple joy. Thanks, Steve!
Saw his acoustic show at the Cambridge Corn Exchange in 1988 I think it was. The next day's show was classical guitarist John Williams. Or it was the other way around. Who cares? Both excellent!
16:00 minutes or so. Shadow of the Hierophant > This might sound totally vain but I'm proud to have posted this. Its an excellent produced video. Chesters' the Hierophant.
2/12/15 - Happy Birthday, Steve! You're the BEST!!! :)
28:30 Lovely to see John Whetton with a Telecaster playing the Squonk chords in Los Endos!❤👍👍👍👍👍

Martin Argüello yeah I think at albums fantastic
After 50 years I finally realized what “I Talk To The Wind” is about. The Wind being a euphemism for an air-headed person. Aha! Clever…
en una entrevista, Chester Thompsom señalo que este fue uno de sus mejores conciertos en toda su vida..
I want to say that 'that' is how I went about it too; first purchasing the CD's. Tho I can't recollect what year..maybe 2000? The CD's had been out awhile. A lovely package_design with the release. The VHS Live footage I probably..got in 2002? Acquired online, amongst mp3 swappers post_Napster days. Tho it might've been earlier. But like the CD's a very tight professionally produced release. Done as right as it could've been.
I just clicked to the time you mentioned; the 24:02...and let it play thru to Los Endos. And just noticed for the first time around 24:58 they play a few bars of 'Dancing With the Moonlit Night'. It dances in and out so quick, I wonder if any one seeing it live noticed? It's there tho. Played spot on.
Maravilhoso ❤
Steve should have had John or Ian sing the lead on "I know What I Like"!
James please post a set list in your intro.
Chester Thompson, awesome! Does he still play and where?
Superb drummer, one of the best!
Marc Nuhn he plays for Genesis
Marc Nuhn Mark I'm sure he does he's a somewhat of a freelance drummer for very special Progressive artist strawberry 57
I read somewhere Chester retired?
@@TheBobbleHedz yes he's retired, unfurtunelly!!
Tho time marches on, I'm an insider fan of Chester. I think his live stuff thru out his professional career is fantastic. He amongst his peers is highly regarded (chek the Drummers of Frank Zappa DVD). Weather Report, George Duke trio (1975), Fire Merchants (Goodsall 1987). Strong strong player. With this vid, pt 2..somewhere around 35:00..drum solo. One of these days I have to get my hands on 'A joyful noise'. his CD

Chester's great. Cool cat.
Ian Mcdonald's harmony vocals sounds like he should have been a lead singer.
Check out Ian McDonald's cd DRIVERS EYES. He sings lead on 3 or 4 tunes. He also enlists the help of lead singers: Lou Gramm, John Waite, John Wetton, Gary Brooker, and Ian Lloyd. Very good cd. Several terrific songs.
Greg Crabtree
A big fan of 'Let There Be Light' from Drivers Eyes. Jakko sings it beautifully, as well.
concert in 1996
AGUANTE PETER GABRIEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1時です。。。昼ご飯の時です。。。
Dum dee dum dee dum! 🤣😅😂👍👍👍
A question for the connoisseurs: Is this Ian Mcdonnald the one who wrote "Revolution in the head" ( a book a bout thte Beatles)?
This one is Ian McDonald, the one you mentioned is Ian MacDonald, so one more "a" in his name.
Radoslav is correct. 'this' Ian McDonald (in the vid above) is Crimson, Foreigner etc. A very good query tho Oswaldo, if you will allow me. I know (vaguely) what you are referring to. The Ian associated with the Beatles, around and during the recording of the white album.
24:02 =8O
Really, it now breaks for some stupid commercial?.........ruined!
