2:34 the way he kicks up the gun. That is so fucking bad ass. You think he's just a typical drug addict, working at a hotel but his backstory takes you by surprise and makes you realize he's simply just trying to escape his past. He's the best character in this movie!!
And stolen from skyfall
Dude IS THE MOST BADASS PERSON IN THIS FILM AND HE DIED SO UNRIGHTEOUSLY 😭😭😭😭 R.I.P MILES
@carlos Rivas I hated the two sisters so much. I honestly really loved Miles' character arc and redemption at the end. I enjoyed Jon Hamm as the Hoover era G-man too. I just hated the fact that even in movies about the past they now have to stick some 'kick ass girls' in just to meet audience's PC requirements. Especially since both of those guys met their ends at these little idiots hands. But okay I get it. Chaos factor blah blah. Come to think of it, they actually do a pretty damn good job of showing how a couple insane women can very easily fuck up everything they touch.
He was the best. I order the movie on demand JUST to fast forward to his part. And no I'm not too ashamed to admit that I've tried that foot trick with just about every long gun I own, rifle or shotgun. No live rounds though. At least not till I've mastered it haha
@@jaygreen7415 oh shut up
@@EugeneVDebs-mo6dh Awww my feelings have truly been hurt by that cutting retort. I am wounded. How will I go on....
Let’s let the one who just watched her sister die live. That’s smart .
Turns out he was the biggest killer than any other characters in this movie. Best character in the movie. 💥
That’s a badass mo fo!
I loved how they implied he was a serial killer before they showed the actual story. Everyone in the movie theater gasped when he said he killed 123 people and someone yelled “WHAT”
I'd argue he is a serial killer. His role in the military doesn't make him any less of a ruthless killing machine. There's no psychological gratification on his part and he clearly regrets it but you don't get that good at exterminating humans without a degree of heartlessness.
@@m0cha. dude, the fuck is wrong with you? People in wars are forced to kill or be killed, but yOu'D aRgUe ThAt ThEy'Re SeRiAl KiLlErs. I don't think that you know the definition of that word, my guy
@@m0cha. that's sort of the point in the film. That's how miles views himself. But I don't think it's neccesarily 100% accurate. War allows or forces normal people to push down the part of themselves that tells them killing is bad. It's why so many servicemen come back severely mentally damaged because the human brain doesn't like killing people.
@@m0cha. By it's very definition, he is not a serial killer. I get that you want to seem deep and interesting calling soldiers in a war serial killers, but you're just boring or not that smart.
@@m0cha.people killing people is a part of human nature, but comparing service members to serial killers is a stretch. We fought in mutual combat. You tried to sound smart but you came across quite daft.
Miles is such a tortured soul and Lewis Pullman's portrayal of him is absolutely AWESOME. He makes Miles' pain and anguish so real. I hope to see a lot more from him. Loved this movie and Miles is one of my favorite characters.
The way Miles kicks up the rifle looks down the barrel loads a round in the chamber like a boss....he transforms from that shy bell boy to a stone cold killer in the flash of a moment....favorite scene of the whole movie!
You think he’s this timid weak kid an he just flips a switch an becomes a man of shear will. One of my favorite characters of any movie ever.
Surprised the shit out of me! Dude is a buzzsaw.
Miles shows how you may never know that there are hidden hero's around you in the most unassuming people. (Until you need them.)
a broken soul who tries so hard to forget the past and wants to be forgiven for what he has done, miles is a great character
"How many people did you kill?"
"123."
First I thought Miles was a psychopath who killed every guest after filming them and that he also killed all the other staff members and that's why he was so alone in the big hotel...but I guess war is good as well😅
If you've never been in a war and fought in a battle and in the aftermath you watch a bunch of friends of yours that are dead get put in body bags and put on a chopper you have no idea what he felt.
I admire his skill. I also understand his pain.
So this is what Bob was doing in his past life before becoming a Top Gun pilot and flying with Tom Cruise
This is a war flashback done right, probably the best one in a while.
Often 5 minutes to 20 minutes of war sequence helps to much to characters grow up and become a new person in our eyes. That's why I like Forrest gump, it was never a war movie, a comedy movie and a love story. It was all of them, done right in the right time.
This was the best part of the movie, especially the flashback to Vietnam. I think that was the part that stuck with me the most
This is one of the best scene in film history, the plot twist, and the heroic turn of events.
It's just sad that he didn't shoot Rose... i would, especially after she just watched her sister die, anyone who can do that is an evil person
That is the MOST BADASS SCENES I'VE EVER SEEN! Anyone who's been in a warzone & been forced to kill understands his reluctance.
I just now watched this movie and had to see this again. My God, they still make great movies. I can't believe it.
This movie surprised me in so many ways. So underrated!
the look from Jeff Bridges in the background from 2:35 to 2:36 sums up the expression of every one who watched the movie for the first time.
2:34 I feel so guilty for loving this. Power fantasies like these haunt me and I have to keep them inside because they're immature and destructive. Thank you Miles for being who we all wanted to be at that point.
oh miles. the incarnation of the universal soldjer. His sould and his mind. At the same time impressive and at the same time a tragedy. Life in piece and forever miles.
2:17
Putting two in the booth and not even wasting the time to confirm the kill was badass. The dude is back in war, and all nerves have left him and he's completely focused
2:06 When the veteran player finally decides to start trying for real in order to carry the struggling team.
went from zero to hero in under a minute
Loved this scene.
It is apparent I'm not the only one that thinks Miles is a total bad ass. When he grabbed the rifle and headed to the door, I jumped out of the chair and yelled you go boy!!
Esse filme é fenomenal!
I love how the movie makes sense how the revolver is precisely shooted with 6 bullet
Damn Miles was at the end the real badass
So nice to see a movie this good instead of some CGI mush of super heroes and re-makes
This is the only reason I rewatched the movie.
A man who fears what he good at because of what it leaves in his wake.
Had to sit through that whole movie for that scene.
My favorite scene
1:54 I just love the sounds things make in movies
Everytime miles shoots his weapon someone dies
Honestly I got to tell you Lewis Pullman is great in this movie bad time at the El Royale 👏👏⚡🔥❤️🔥💯
he's character is so badass!! lewis pullman pulled it off!!!
I love the scene
Miles turns on his aimbot.
This entire fucking movie was like the ending of pulp fiction. I was losing my shit when it was revealed this Jeffrey Dahmer looking dude turned out to be a sharpshooting war hero lmao. Best ending twist I've seen in a while.
He was vicious and a killer, though a youth of 24
I Did Not See That Coming, Not From 'Miles' Away. LOL. But Seriously Badass Miles. He Made This Whole Film For Me.
Most inspiration scene in my life.
I'm so confused with this scene. Did Miles kill his own troops?
@@kathrynpearson6950 Why tf did he had to kill his troops? His troops probably got wiped out by the VC and he just kill all the enemy and somehow pass out
Andjelkovic Dennis : das ist ein Teil von mir ! 0:10
Best scene in movie
Miles at 2:34 movement was badass and smooth
I like to interpret that God gave him the courage he needed to save the innocent from the crazy cult people.
The way he says "Take the gun" in such a polite way is just like nows that from now on everything's going to be fine as he is repenting for his sins.
Religious themes in this movie are very well written.
I felt so terrible when his past was revealed. I just assumed he was some weird, shady, perverted, violent junkie.. but, he was just a tortured war vet. He is like the embodiment of disillusionment(and kind of vietnam vets in general). He was just some innocent, religiously raised, farmboy who got sent off to an illegal war and was rewarded by being used by the government the rest of his life. He's just a lost soul(and the poetic irony of a guy who's been used by the US government his whole life almost lazily wiping out this low level cult is hilarious, but it's for someone more articulate than me to dive into).
2:09 "Easy there, Arthur Morgan" ??? WTF.
Weird. I guess I'm the only one who thinks that whoever made this movie, had previously watched Baccano and decided to make a movie with the same style of storytelling. He then left a Baccano reference in the form of Miles (Jacuzzi Splot).
I've never felt so alone in this world 😭
Badass!!!
At least 4 actors in this movie have worked with director Joseph Kosinski!
badass
When the higher level player says "fuck it" and cuts loose.
So fucking badass
push over turn to fucking Rambo, just love this scene
Make that 128.
I kinda wish that this flashback happened when he finds the priest after he got knocked out
miles was the best fking part of the movie he deserves an oscar period XD

Ptsd are not fun folks...
I didn't he kill the hippie girl that was stupid
this was awesome too bad he got smoked by a kid.... 😞
like John Hamm not securing the room in his rescue attempt this was unrealistic though. Miles's a vietnam soldier in combat mode. He'd recognize a weapon in the first place, recognize rose' intention (she's shocked obviously), and handled a stab from a kid better. whatever, dude lived to repent.
everybody gangsta till miles said “123”
One of the laziest, shittiest twists I've ever seen.
Talk about a “wtf” moment when Darlene asks Miles, “how many people have you killed”, and he answers, “123.”
I was so happy when Miles becomes Rambo.
What a great acting job he did. Alot of Tarantino-esque cinematography.
Great flick!
not good as Rambo LOL
@@user-si7wo2sb9z but Rambo is the closest thing to Miles lol
@@TheVillain01 yeah lol but Miles too weak he can't handle the mind cuz every time he gets PTSD about 123 man that he killed, and Rambo is diffrient he's got PTSD too but he absolutely stronger than Mike but anyway its always about Rambo in Vietnam LOL
This is more like Tarantino-wannabe like Smoking Aces.
The best part is cut off right before this, When the singer Darlene asks "How many people have you killed, Miles?" He stares off and says "123".
i guess you could say "its easy as 123"
Myles is so cool!
He wraps it up to 128
@@nonyabusiness3326 that your thumbs up are 123 is fantastic, i can't even up vote your comment
It caught me off-guard, I didn't expect him to be a war hero.
I remember clearly when he said how many people he killed, and I was expecting a serial killer flashback or something. What followed was a load of "WTFFFF" and "HOLY SHIT"
I thought for a second that it would resolve in him killing a lot of hotel guests, which is why "the management" wanted to have the footage of what was happening in the rooms after so many disappearances.
I was expecting a serial killer flashback too.
I swear he’s the one who killed Nick Offerman , Jeff Bridge’s characters brother , in the beginning of the movie .
Lionel Williams that was the other guy on the job, the one that flipped the truck
Webbys world same dude. I thought he was the one responsible for that massacre on the tv earlier in the film
I like how hemsworth’s character turns around and smiles when he sees miles with the gun. You can just tell he thinks miles is just some stupid kid and that he can talk him down. But before he even finishes his sentence gets a bullet in head.
ziFenris-Gaming In any other movie he probably would have too, but this one didn’t pull any punches
Billy got chaded
@I drink your milkshake _He got what he hyuckin' deserved._
I am a false prophet
The most badass scene is when Billy disrespect Darlene's angelic voice..and the priest just lost it... All hell break lose..
"I've heard better."
exactly i watched this with my gf & we were both like “no you haven’t shut up Billy”
he was just made she read him for what he was, & hurt his ego so he tried to hit back
The confessions scene really got me
I admit to crying at that part in the theater.
@@fatalpenguinful agreed I also cried, it was some damn good acting
Miles is officially most badass movie character..
2:33 is just so badass
He was smooth AF right then, calmly checking the action and adjusting the sights without even breaking his almost casual stride.
When Chris Hemsworth isn't in Marvel movies, he's dying in all the other ones he's in. Seriously, he dies a lot.
Pandas are cool
Rush ?
He didn’t die in rush, the huntsman, ghostbusters, mib
@@prernasharma2234 well the guy he acted in rush in real life dies so basically his character dies 😂😂😂
He's coming for Sean Bean's title
Not in 12 Strong
I saw this movie 3 times in theaters with mostly different people each time. I waited to see their reactions to Miles’ “123” and was not disappointed lol
That and when Darlene whacks Flynn with the bottle got a lot of reaction
I really love how easily he put down every single one of them without hesitation because they were the enemy and they all had guns in their hands but he never even thought about killing Boots/Rosie because in his eyes she was a victim and innocent, little did he know she was one of the worst. Regardless I believe that even though he had killed 123 people and thought his soul was destined for hell for it, but he constantly shows that the carnage of war had not turned him into a monster like he thought. His guilt is immense and he just wants to repent, even though he was not technically forgiven by a real priest I do not think it matters because for whatever sins he believes he committed were all forgiven because he put the lives of others ahead of his own
Only that bugged me is that he let down his guard with Rose. He saw her cold dead soul when her sister was murdered.
That is something that also bugged me too. Her cold dead soul and then he literally just let his guard down? He is a badass character to be dead like that..
2 inconstancies...a thoroughly trained marine would also stay away from windows when he sees gun on other side...his death was also out of character...but can be put to the fact that he was trying to suppress his real marine character and paid for that. .
He wasn't a killer, though. He was a gentle man with peerless killing abilities, who was sickened by hurting people even though he was a prodigy at it. He died because he tried to show her compassion. It cost him his life, but he was more concerned about his soul anyways. He wasn't even willing to resort to violence to save his own life before Darlene showed him compassion. He died because he was a better man than he thought.
That's a weirdly specific way to put it but yaeh he shouldn't have lowered his guard.
He may have been compassionate, but as a marine, he was trained to always keep your guard up until the threat has been neutralized. The sister was obviously brainwashed, so the right thing to do is search her for weapons, if she gets hostile, either knock her out or put her down.
The most satisfying scene, even more than when Rose's character was revealed.
I really enjoyed this flick. I didn’t expect to but man I was truly surprised how good the characters are dialogue was and the few action scenes like this were on point. Besides how could you go wrong w this cast!?
Yeah Hemsworth was great
Well they still managed to go wrong with the cast.
Dakota Johnson is more of a porn actress than a real one, she cant act for shit. And still she had way more screen time than for example Jon Hamm I was super angry about that. Also, the little sister was very annoying, havent seen such a bad "child" actor in years. Beginning of the movie was a whole lot better than the middle and last act.
Chris Hemsworth is also a great actor but he was given such shitty dialouges in this film so he was just meh.
Jeff Bridges's acting was on point, however the black lady actress can't sing for shit, those singing scenes should have been omitted they literally hurt my ears.
Wilson96HUNthe2nd I know it’s your opinion but man “can’t sing for shit” is reeeeally selling her short.
@@W96H2 Lol Idk if you watched this on a bad night or what but fuck dude you over exaggerated most of what you just said there.
@@W96H2 I know it's your opinion but it sucks
Lewis Pullman was the breakout star of the movie. And his scenes with the legend Jeff Bridges were great.
i thought “wow that priest guy reminds me of an older version of the dude” but then i realized Jeff Bridges has just gotten old lol. still a legend
I really didn’t like miles in the beginning, but he was by far the best character in this movie. That final scene was so badass, and he died in such a bad way, it’s a shame. Loved what they did with him though.
Bill Pullman's son is the MAN! That kicked up rifle moment and his confidence while shooting was the best part of this already good movie! Last week I was on set with him and told him such (and confessed his dad's ID speech is incredible....to which he agreed).
I love how many references this has to tarantinos movies. The homages were spot on.
