She needs child therapy. Sounds strange but it’s what she would need in order to grow up with a good mental health. While her mom’s side can give her lots of love and support, they’ll need to get the dad’s side to pitch in too for her therapy costs or the dad’s side can even set her up with a therapist themselves. I’m sure they all love their granddaughter/niece and have nothing to do with the murder of her mom.
Shes obviously very intelligent, want to help the police and is very articulate in doing so. I think the poor kid is emotionally numb, but her logical brain is still working. I hope to God she has strong support & love when those emotions kick in. And if they dont but remain surpressed, i fear for her future.

Skip town and take the kids with her but don’t ever threaten a dad you would do this (deal with custodial issues later). What these losers need is time to cool off and clear their heads. (Who believes that she walked up close to him and studied his facial features?) Setting that aside, she might have meant that they were bluish or grayish, not dark brown. She might have noticed they are rather narrow, with a slight down-dip. In a country town where the same families have been farming for years, many people in the area might have similar ethnicity and similar features. The father might have had a pathological brother or cousin with those eyes. Lord save us from small-town policing!
