- Brian Robin, Mary Burkin and Devin Pike vie for $5000 of Ben Stein's hard-earned cash in this Season 2 episode of the hit game show. Complete with 1998 commercials from FX, Wendy's and Comedy Central - as well as Jimmy Kimmel sparring with Ben Stein. Great time capsule... were we ever that young?

The beauty of the entire show is seeing that Stein actually has an enthusiastic personality.
I use to get 2 questions per show right on this when I was 16. I'm proud to say at 37 I'm up to a solid 3 and a half.
Epic. Same
I weirdly was better at this than I had any business being at 9.
At 34 I now get the puns.
Dam on this episode I'm up to 3 by first commercial break. The bolo, quincyjones, and thriller...
As an old soul person for 1998, I seriously enjoy watching this show 🤣 i miss Win Ben Stein's Money.
There is no tv like 90s tv....sorry kids that ya missed out...classic right here
Even the commercials were great.......mainly because they weren't trying to push agendas through advertising near as much.
the 90s - the year of dutch angles in commercials
this brings me back, i would watch this before bed during high school. this makes me feel safe.
Yes
Wow, I now have kids who are older than I was when I watched this back in the day. The vintage commercials drop me right into the way back machine. Coo cool
Enjoyed watching the old commercials more than the show.
This made me so nostalgic, I feel like Fry when he bought all that 90s stuff
Please let me know which episode that is. I want to check it out. Thanks in advance :).
BTW I used to never check my replies and I'm trying to start but it's hard to remember to so it might be a long time or never that I see your answer and respond (if a response is necessary) . Thank you for your patience :).
I was lucky to have done audience work on several episodes of this wonderful show and got to met Ben during one of the breaks. I miss this show!!!!
They should bring this show back
Ben Stein: "I wanna make you come."
Me: "Already there brother"
The world’s greatest straight man Im also huge kimmel fan
I used to love watching this show. What an amazing person
Best game show EVER!!! Ben Stein is brilliant and funny.
If you don't smile while watching this great show, there's something wrong with you.
"Hey, I'm Dave Chappelle, and you're watching Comedy Central.
...GODDAMN!"
90’s was the best decade for tv hands down
I'd love to see a comeback of this. Kimmel and Ben are still active so it'd be fun.
Ian same
Ben is a weird Trumper now, unfortunately
God I miss this show. I always wanted to be on it.
I was on it every time I watched it.
Sorry man but thanks to Hotel Transylvania 3, the Macarena is back in full force.
I love free music and other modern technology, but watching pre-911 stuff always makes me deeply nostalgic. American society really jumped the shark in 2001.
Yes. I've been saying this for years. Everything changed. I was in 7th grade and I was barely old enough to notice it.
@@INDKFGC I was in 3rd grade at the time but even then I was able to see things were completely different post-9/11. I guess this is part of why I sometimes go to old recordings like this
Now it’s all pronouns and offending people. Nothing is funny anymore. Everything is deemed offensive 🙄
I used to watch this with my older brothers when I was in like preschool and kindergarten... probably why I turned out the way I did.
I still think of this show when I see Kimmel on TV. He was entertaining, even then.
Fun fact. Brian STILL, almost 20 years later, works for The Antelope Valley Press as a sports writer.
P.S. Didn't know you could say asshole on Comedy Central without it getting bleeped.
Awesome. Brian won on Jeopardy! in 2007 as well. :D
I remember seeing their response to the Blade Runner question years ago on TV. Such a funny moment.
My right ear enjoyed this video immensely. My left ear felt incredibly left out
Jimmie Kimmel looks exactly the same 19 years later.
You know who else looks the same 19 years later? Danny DeVito 13:19
His woke-ness is a lot higher these days
Wow, it's 1998 all over again. I'll enjoy it whilst I can.
but those 90's commercials tho. Being someone from the 90's, that was quite the throwback..
Man I LOVED this show!
Thanks for loading this up! It really brings back some good memories
90's Television is beyond 2023 direct TV!!!!
I love that you included the commercials in this
“Involved in this internet thing”
But your cause was just, and I really wanted to support him, but even I wasn't online at this time as a kid.
This is the best video ever!
Best of Ten questions were really tough.
Running an anti-Macarena page on that internet thing.
Man, this certainly is a dated 90s time capsule a minute in.
thank you for this
Good job Devin! Thanks for sharing.
Best categories ever
23:52 The best host of The Daily Show.
Jimmy before the 'in' thing being all guys having beards.
October 1998. That was a good Halloween.
Wow he's won $5000 of ben steins money enjoy the money congratulations Brian 💰🤑 💸
I used to watch this all the time
so cute, so young, and so awkward... luckily all of these things have changed. you know I'm going to plaster this all over every social media platform that I can find. Lucky thing too! I don't even have to feel bad about it! YOU POSTED IT! BWAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
This show is awesome I wish I was on there being Ben's co host
Ben's opening quote comes from Prince's first-ever hit song "I Wanna B Your Lover" (1979).
BRIAN DID IT!!!!
Those were the days.
Devin you did do a good job but I found it hilarious every time you did your Chris Farley head Bob whenever you were losing the second round. Lmao
15:09 it's time to find out how smart ben REALLY is
sweet nostalgia
after this u gotta watch an episode of Reboot, if ur really a 90's kid
Oh my goodness ben blow a kiss to the board
Brian you won $5000 grand
Anybody else gonna watch History of the World part 1 after this
After we're done playing Chess!
Good times
I got 4 questions right and 2 of the final 10 questions right.
I was a kid when the show aired. Idk if I got any right, but if I was able to get ANY correct answers, 6 might be the total number I got right during the show's entire existence.
It funny Kimmel never had Ben Stein on his show
He did have him on his show. In 2016.
I remember watching this infrequently when I was very young and found it as a bizarre version of Jeopardy.
Never understood the questions .
At least now. I know the name of the show
Wonder how much that Lincoln Navigator is now?
Bender Bending Rodriguez around 2k... it was around 70k base when it was new lmao
ben stein looks like Alf if Alf was a human.
The antelope valley press? Palmdale/Lancaster? Where I live... Nice.....
Do you have access to any other episodes? I'm looking for Dec 11, 1998 (#3031) where I was a contestant.
Who is Ben Stein really and why does he have so much money?
"You in trouble if you talk to my bitch like that!"
LO FUCKING L!
I can't hear the audio (it's completely silent), I checked and made sure it wasn't my computer, either hardware or software Was there a copyright issue?
BTW I used to never check my replies and I'm trying to start but it's hard to remember to so it might be a long time or never that I see your answer and respond (if a response is necessary) . Thank you for your patience :).
Why so many commercials?
Classic win ben stein's money, from a time when men were men, and cats were cats. Or something like that.
Tracking Lines! How quaint!
@1:42 was that a trumpet playing for a second? 😂
Ben was making the Call Of The Attorneys. Only truly audible for those who passed the bar - you're ahead of the curve.
Cool
That's Fred Norris at 20:51!
28:03 I'm afraid Brian has taken your $5,000 final score 6 to 5
I knew FDR, France, Carat, Easter Island, and Port, so I would have tied Ben.
This show was actually really hard. Ivy league level intelligence generally needed but every now & then Ben did lose.
I’m of the belief that Stein tanked some questions on purpose during the second round. Stein couldn’t be buzzing in all day long answering all the questions, that’d make for a boring show, so I get it.
The “true” Ben Stein and his intelligence are put on display in the final round, where it’s one on one…..I think that’s Stein unfiltered, really going for it. And yes, even highly intelligent guys like Stein will miss an answer or two every so often.
I always loved when he’d walk out of the booth and get bleeped for swearing after a particularly hard run of questions.
I really miss this show a lot 😞😢
you can tell Jimmy Kimmel is so thrown off by some of the people on this show and just wants to completely berate them but holds back. Lol
i do not know why this show was tooken of tv it was sad
Thank you but why doesn’t the left audio channel work?
Devin Pike ahh... I see. Again, thanks for uploading this. I loved this show and it brings back memories. 👍🏻
yall should all read fred stollers book. it’s what norm would have wanted
28:22 New York was the 2nd most populous state until the mid to late 1990s when people upstate were moving out while Texas and Florida were having flocks of northerners moving in. NY is now the 4th most populous state behind California, Texas, and Florida.
Why is the quality so bad at the beginning made me think my phone was screwed up
Vhs my man
16:56 🤣🤣🤣
I did good the first round on this episode
Losing contestants should keep their money.
Why wouldn't you ring in every time if there's no risk when you get something wrong?
"nickame"
And then Jimmy Kimmel got his own show
Was that real money that fell from the ceiling when the bonus was won?
No, it's \prop cash.
12:58 I know that voice...
ohnoitschris That would be Penn Jillette.
Sed
how to they know these answers it's insane
Well, the "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" question was pretty easy.
Weird change of voice!
I wanna be your lover
29:42
Be. Said anyone anyone
Sss
Good god I'm glad I skipped this show, it's boring as hell!
