Unlike a lot of people, I like when Labrie improvises or changes melodies when his voice is tired, I mean, the man is on his 50's and still has that voice, it reminds me of how long he has given so much for Dream Theater back then in the 90s you could see his full potential, and even though you still can in the recent performances, I can see Labrie still giving his best and that's enough for me to enjoy him singing. Long live DT!!

I saw him twice in the 2017 tour and he NAILED it - singing like that for 3 hours on a demanding tour can't be easy. Sad that he gets all the shit he does. My original comment was not to take a piss on him, but rather wonder how DT would sound fronted by another vocalist.
Mike Mangini, is a great asset to dream theater!! I know him and took two drum lessons with him. He can definitely can play and beat the shut out of the drums. He broke the record for the most beats in a minute. I witnessed him do it. He can also play a one handed drum roll. I witnessed him do it. Great drummer.
I know this Band from the Start and love there Music very much. Mostly there Ballades give me the Trills. Excellent Musicians are tere. Thx for putting it in here Mike.

Yup Bruce still kicks ass. Dio sounded outstanding all the way up until the end. And Ozzy, despite sounding way off in the 80s managed to sound like his old healthy self again in 2010.
Bruce sounds good for his age but damned if you can't notice that he's also faded. Those who deny it are just lying to themselves. It's bound to happen sooner or later, no matter how much care you put into it.
It's a pitty I've heard all of their albums and I saw them live too.. He's absolutelly loosing control under his voice with years.. It's destroying whole show..

Portnoy plays a lot of "look what I can do" or "I really want to be Neil Peart". Mangini always plays for the song. I've seen them both in DT and elsewhere and MP always struct me as really wanting to overshadow Patrucci, which is both pathetic and impossible...lol Portnoy is playing in 30 other bands doing the exact same licks he did in DT... Thomas Lang is the drumming death droid....
This has to be the largest audience they have ever performed for! As for Jame's voice - so many things happen while on the road such as viruses, and such. Check out other examples- he still sounds great.

For so many years I had the highest respect for these guys, and I've met them a couple times at meet and greets. Since Portnoys departure though, they have been on a downward spiral for me. This song sounds so foreign to me with all the drumming having been altered. I know he, Mangini, wants to make them his own but for crying out loud this just proves that Portnoy was one of the cogs in the DT wheel that couldn't, and shouldn't, have been replaced. RIP DT.

If you’re any kind of DT fan, it should be self evident just by listening and comparing

If you practice the right technique you will last long. Ian of deep purple didnt and now he also sounds pretty bad. But he is very old now.
