    Thank you so much for posting this! After a few hours have passed and you’ve completed the head soaking, what do you do next just run a test print?

      Yes that’s right, you can do a test print and then see how the results look.

      @@thevinylguys great! I have it soaking now. I also ordered new ink (the cartridges in the machine are probably dried out) I’m so thankful for your videos!

    Can you pull ink through a vs 540 print head with a syringe like can on sp 540 to help unclog a printhead?

    Hi Carl. On your Roland BN-20 cap top, there is a little spring missing. My printer has the same missing spring and I was wondering if is that bad and it can work without. Thank you.

    Lads, getting a VS640 transported. It could be off for 7-10 days depending on how long the transport takes. What procedures should I go through to ensure it’s sorted for transport and will be quick and easy to get going again with no issues on the other end when it arrives?

      If you give the machine a thorough manual clean and print a test print for reference when you get it set back up then follow the tray drain procedure, make sure the waste bottle is also emptied after that, put the cap on or add a bung to the waste neck to avoid drips, use the head lock to secure the head in place too and remove the inks just for easier transport. When it gets to the destination remember to first remove the head lock and then power up, refill the tray and perform a test print to see where you are with it. You may find it’s back to work as it was or you may need to perform another clean to get it back to where it was, possibly a damper fill if it’s not back to the full quality it was.
      Key things are empty the tray and drain bottle and lock the head in place

    Will this work on a completely dry head unused for about 2 years?

    • @thevinylguys
      @thevinylguys  Před 10 měsíci

      It’s unlikely but no harm in trying as it’ll most likely be unusable and need replacing

      not at all....ink tube dried down to print head.....it need to replace the print head, damper and if can be flush out the ink in inktube from ink cartridge INlet down to damper try otherwise u have to replace also.
