I had a lot of old pipes and rebar to cut up and from what I read czcams.com/users/postUgkxPDBfLu68o58Aw85O_J-zIFfjJARBhp-3 this would be the tool for the job. Since I had never used one, I watched a couple of youtube videos and I'm so glad I did. Some really good safety tips, which I followed, and this tool did a splendid job. One good thing to know is the weight of the tool puts just about the right amount of pressure on the metal I was cutting, so I didn't have to use a lot of pressure, which is more likely to jam the tool. It made fast work of my job.

Great job, excellent video as usual, my friend. It is a very good thing you noticed the grinder was rotating the wrong way (clockwise). Using it like that could make the spindle nut loosen and spin the disc right off. Take care!

This is back when tools were tools. I really enjoy your Hitachi, Makita, and old Nicad DeWalt drill rebuilds. I like Makita a lot but I still use my old Dewalt 18 volt Nicad drill from the late 90’s it runs great. I’ve had to replace the factory batteries a few times but I keep using factory batteries they seem to be the best, unless I’ve over looked some batteries. I grown attached to the drill and should of just bought new stuff but I will run my old Dewalt until I die.

He packs the gear housing with a lot of grease which is a good thing. Most tools now are greased with grease you can barely feel but they say it works as good. I don’t really buy it as much because my older older tools have lasted a lot longer, I replace brushes yearly or sooner if need.

  • @ThreenaddiesRexMegistus

The old Hitachi gear was the best money could buy. Then they went on to make some over complicated stuff. I’ve still got Hitachi going back 30+ years. Their airless nail gun was a fail. They really didn’t look at what working carpenters needed. I had one for a few days then went back to Paslode.
