i'm a 30 yo mexican that has lived his whole life on this country and never thought that tlayudas are basically mexican pizza. Mindblown.
If you ever go to Guadalajara, try the 2 pesos tacos from the San Juan de Dios market.

Tlacolula de Matamoros is another AMAZING Mercado because all the Pueblo’s from el Valle arrive and their food is so RICH. 😭
My family is from Oaxaca and I was so lucky to vacation there as a kid. 🥰
And this is why you should go out and explore other cities when traveling, CDMX and all capitals in the world don’t have the best representation of the food in their countries
This takes me back to my childhood days when every summer my parents would take us to Mexico for our vacation. The food is delicious and made with true love.
Best Mole in the world! It's the most complex ever changing sauce ever. My Abuela used to put at least 30 ingredients in her's I swear. With chicken, beef, rice, anything! It's the best.

Oaxaca is just a special place it’s still much more indigenous than other parts of Mexico. The food is pre Colombian and a lot of people don’t speak Spanish they still speak the native tongue. Definitely a bucket list destination for me

Tejate is my fave drink, but is not almonds is the stone of a fruit called mamey and the cacao blossom as well, is so refreshing and delicious, and the thing floating at top is the actual cacao butter that separates OMG I LOVE IT
